Why does CA not allow you to buy/sell regions anymore?
If CA is going to keep adding the province system, then they need to add the feature that allowed you to sell/buy/trade regions. It is not a huge problem, but it gets annoying when you like to own a whole province and your ally owns one of the regions. It's like you cannot be civilized towards your ally and make a deal to get the region. If you want it, war is the only option. I know the game is called "Total War", but more diplomatic options would be nice. Exspecially in the next historic game..:)

I found this annoying too, I wanted to take wurtbad from the empire as I had the moot but didn't want war at that time, no option to buy it or trade for it, very annoying. I had to leave it in the end until much later on.

I suppose it's a bit annoying, but if you're playing as one of the intented factions (that is, no factions unlocked by mods), any settlement you want you should be able to capture, as you're supposed to be at war with the owner (Empire vs. VC, to a lesser extent Empire vs. Kislev) or be able to confederate them into your empire.

Only "exception" to this rule is the Brettonian factions that rarely, which is still more than never, venture to the other side of the Grey Mountains into Marienburg or Altdorf. Also, sometimes the Border Princes make it through the pass if they pick a fight with Averland and win, but I've also seen it go the other way, with Averland wiping them out. If you feel like RPing, and thus dislike humans "needlessly" fighting other humans, that can be a bit bothersome.

Though the reason why it's not in the game is certainly that the AI couldn't handle it properly.

sadly, given the setting..

buying/trading land with the current factions just doesn't seem to fit.

As much as the Dwarfs and Empire are friends? no way the dwarfs would willing give up their holds.. (and not many humans like the idea of living under ground)

Greenskins? who'd trust them enough? Vampires? i doubt any ruler would live long enough to sign the trade deal once his people found out he was thinking about selling their fellows to the undead..

maybe if/when they let folks play the diffrent elector counts of the Empire? Or Kislev or Bretonia? i can see them maybe being willing to trade land with other humans. (same with Vampires trading turf.. maybe..)

but as for the rest? it just doesn't.. feel right?

remember in the other games, like in real life.. Everyone was human...

here in Warhammer, you've got totaly diffrent races, who distrust each other... and most tend to enslave, eat or kill and bring them back as undead anyone not of their group...

Because some damn fool back in Empire bought the whole of India for 500 non-specific currency. It was a number of transactions with multiple agreements with different nations, but all extracted from a base investment of 500. In the first turn.

Hell of a deal right there. $500 for India.
