Vampire counts global recruitment?
Do vampire counts get access to global recruitment like the other armies or do I need to build and upgrade their barrack buildings in every province that I want access to all the troops in any region? Other armies I played as long as 1 province had all the Barack buildings in I could recruit the troops in any other province under the global recruitment panel and just pay more for the troops.

I don't think they do because they have the raise dead ability.
You don't need it. What you need are battlemarkers. Go do a few battles with plenty of expendables and try to get 1000+ casualties.

Yeah i reckon so. Annoying as i got to build their barrack buildings in every province now taking up space for money making buildings.

They do not, the raise dead ability is their mechanic variation for that. Do you understand the mass grave post battle sites?

Yeah we're their are loads of dead bodies after big battles. Can you raise any unit you want from them?

With raise dead and a few good sites you can get away with not having any recruitment buildings at all, and put every building slot towards economy.

But you can you guatante what units will be available when doing raise dead?

Not really but with my main sites of 7000 dead and 9000 dead respectively I was always able to instantly raise a full stack or three of useful units. There were plenty of grave guards, black knights and monsters to choose from at any time along with literally 20 skeleton swordsmen.

Plus with no military buildings taking up slots I was very rich and could afford more armies than I would have otherwise. I almost literally won the long victory on a legendary VC campaign just from raise dead.

No. But more bodies = more (and better) units available. I've heard tell of people deliberately creating huge casualty numbers by flooding enemy stacks with thousands and thousands and thousands of cheap zombies, just to create the "body pool" for Raise Dead to slingshot high-tier units.

I know this is old but can someone explain/provide me with a link about how to work with these "mass grave post battle sites"?

The more turns you wait after having a big battle and creating a mass grave, the better and more units will be available to you. So if you have a huge battle, but it only shows a few units of zombies/skeletons, wait a few turns and things like Grave Guard, Terrorgheists, black cavalry, etc, will all start to be able to be recruited.

I can't believe I've never known about this. Can these new units be found under "Raise Dead" or just under "Recruit Units"? And how long does it last?

It's under Raise Dead. The Mass Grave will stay there forever with the units. But, if you constantly Raise Dead from that Mass Grave, the units will get depleted and the area will return to a normal-ish raise dead (3 zombies 1 of each skeleton).

Also if you raise 'cheap' units instead of waiting (as in you raise dead immediately after creating a Mass Grave), those cheap units could potentially replace any elite units you actually want. As in the elite units won't spawn as fast or at all.

You also do not need to be right on top of the Mass Grave. I believe you just have to be in the same region (not the whole provence), but I'm not 100% how far away you can actually be to use it. Maybe I had multiple graves in a small area, but I think you can Raise Dead as long as you are within 50% movement range (not forced march) of the Mass Grave. Like I said though, I'm not 100% positive on that range.

ty for explaining. Have not played vc myself.
Does the AI handle and use the raise dead mechaning decently well?
