How do I run away from a fight?
I'm new to this franchise, and as such, I am playing terribly. That being said, I had just created a new lord last turn, and immediately he was attacked by a massive army. I retreated, but the army just followed him and attacked again. Now I am stuck in battle. If I fight manually, I have no chance and everybody dies. If I auto-resolve, everybody dies. I just want to escape with my new lord's life, is there any way to retreat from battle? D:

You only get one retreat, if they still catch you and beat you that entire army is gone. It sucks but it happens, the best you can do is try your best and bring hell upon them. I usually go for their Lord to try and inflict some lasting damage.

So there is no way to get your army to retreat over the map border in the battle instance? :c

There is a retreat button on the unit panel, but I've never tried using it. It's very much possible that it's disabled if you've already retreated on the world map, or that the fleeing units are destroyed if you don't win the fight. It'd be cheap to be able to get out of any fight scot free.

Try it. See what happens. Tactical retreat in the battle TF outta there.

If you withdraw a unit from the battle while you have already retreated and the army loses they will all die because the army is destroyed.
