Total War: WARHAMMER

Total War: WARHAMMER

Statistiche:
Book Of Grudges makes Dwarf campaign unwinnable
I'm at turn 254, over 35 hours in a single campaign with a severity of 60 and 7 active grudges.
I'm so late-game I can't even assassinate anyone anymore because the chance of success is too low, so I cannot complete half of my grudges.
I own nearly 1/3 of the map and have nearly 200k in my treasury while fielding SIX 20-stack armies...

Plenty of players have finished Dwarf campaigns. They're quite doable. Agents can be an annoyance but not of you take active measures to counter them. Even a poor agent has some chance. Just keep at it.
Never paid any attention to agents either. Too micro.. If a lord died/was wounded I just replaced them, had lots of lords in rotation. Dwarf armor can take a lot of heat even on very hard so I wasn't too worried about the lord bonuses etc.

Speaking of which, I got that raid grudge but misread it and just razed the settlement, which didn't satisfy the grudge. Unfortunately, the settlement was owned by the VC and they never re-colonised it, so I can't actually clear the grudge anymore.

You might be able to do it still. Just move an army into the province and enter raid stance. There is no need to attack the city. I'm not sure if it checks the owner, however. Still worth a try.

I tried that, but the tooltip said I was raiding 0 gold and thus the grudge wasn't completing...

You'll need to wait for someone to settle the province again.
I have a same sort of problem (not on hard though). Never used agents, so i do not have a skilled agent. Now the only grudge left is to perform a hostile action against one of the remaining dwarf factions, who i'm friendly with. My current agent gets wouned or dies all the time. I can probably train an agent or just eleminate the entier faction, but the whole game just doesn't make sence like this. I should be eleminating Chaos and finish the game, beacause:

I own all dwarf/orc territory in the south.
The Orc and Vampire factions are destroyed.
I have milletary alliances with all human and dwarf factions.
The only real enemy left is Chaos.
I have the highest tier of every building, so i can make any unit i want.
My armies are so far up north, that they are camping south of the water, because otherwise they sustain attrition.

Completing this grudge is not progress, it's just a pain in the ass. It's so inconvenent to complete this final grudge, and against my way of playing, that i did not even finish the campaign and just started a new campaign as empire. Maybe when i have finished all other campaigns, i will try again or load a save from way back.
Hard campaign, around 200 turns, I have occupied every occupiable piece of land (for the dwarfs) and I can't get one bloody part of the victory condition done: The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ grudges.
I had to destroy the entire Varg faction in order to get their assassination grudge done after failing over 20 attempts to carry out an assassination on them (yeah destroying them eventually turned out faster on hard difficulty!)
I'm just fed up with the Dwarf campaign with that ridiculous grudge mechanics. I really enjoyed the dwarfs as a faction, but now it seems the only way I can finish the damn campaign is to destroy every last civilization left.
Grudges are fine if you manage them. Same for agents. If you're having difficulty leveling them then try sending them with the army for a bit.
I completed a campaign (sort of) on VH as the Dwarfs, and also ran into an annoyance with the Book. Not due to the agents (that I could keep on top of), but due to it bot eliminating a grudge for a dead faction. Grudge cannot be completed, book cannot be emptied, campaign cannot be completed.

I like the BoG mechanic, it's quite fun, although yes, it does push you to places you don't want to go.

If you can't finish the campaign due to that, it's not as if you're missing out on a cinematic, a range of speeches, or even some shiny artwork. The campaign ends are kinda anti-climatic...

If by 'managing them' you mean completing them in a timely fashion, that's a good idea. Oh, until the game wants me to do something nasty to another Dwarf Hold. Yeah...like we REALLY need to be fighting each other with Chaos pouring down on us. Or assassinating someone (when we have no good assassins) on the other side of the map. Great use of resources. Oh, by the way, the Dwarves do NOT 'assassinate' people! They kill them in battle, with honor, or at least take their cash in a shrewd deal (hey, money is money!).

The game mechanics should have been adjusted for the different races to make them act and feel less homogenous. It's no wonder the Modders have been having a field day with this game.
That's why I use a mod to remove assassination from the AI

No, they are not fine. Not even close. You can't "manage" them if there is no possible way to complete them. I've given up on this game until it's fixed somehow.

I was not aware that this removed Assassination Grudges as well...
