I tried that, but the tooltip said I was raiding 0 gold and thus the grudge wasn't completing...
I own all dwarf/orc territory in the south.
The Orc and Vampire factions are destroyed.
I have milletary alliances with all human and dwarf factions.
The only real enemy left is Chaos.
I have the highest tier of every building, so i can make any unit i want.
My armies are so far up north, that they are camping south of the water, because otherwise they sustain attrition.
Completing this grudge is not progress, it's just a pain in the ass. It's so inconvenent to complete this final grudge, and against my way of playing, that i did not even finish the campaign and just started a new campaign as empire. Maybe when i have finished all other campaigns, i will try again or load a save from way back.
I had to destroy the entire Varg faction in order to get their assassination grudge done after failing over 20 attempts to carry out an assassination on them (yeah destroying them eventually turned out faster on hard difficulty!)
I'm just fed up with the Dwarf campaign with that ridiculous grudge mechanics. I really enjoyed the dwarfs as a faction, but now it seems the only way I can finish the damn campaign is to destroy every last civilization left.
I like the BoG mechanic, it's quite fun, although yes, it does push you to places you don't want to go.
If you can't finish the campaign due to that, it's not as if you're missing out on a cinematic, a range of speeches, or even some shiny artwork. The campaign ends are kinda anti-climatic...
If by 'managing them' you mean completing them in a timely fashion, that's a good idea. Oh, until the game wants me to do something nasty to another Dwarf Hold. Yeah...like we REALLY need to be fighting each other with Chaos pouring down on us. Or assassinating someone (when we have no good assassins) on the other side of the map. Great use of resources. Oh, by the way, the Dwarves do NOT 'assassinate' people! They kill them in battle, with honor, or at least take their cash in a shrewd deal (hey, money is money!).
The game mechanics should have been adjusted for the different races to make them act and feel less homogenous. It's no wonder the Modders have been having a field day with this game.
No, they are not fine. Not even close. You can't "manage" them if there is no possible way to complete them. I've given up on this game until it's fixed somehow.
I was not aware that this removed Assassination Grudges as well...
