Im not sure about the mechanics, but he actually does come back to life if you dont elminate all the legendary chaos generals while he is "dead." I think the game refers to this as his wounded state.
The way i did it was defeat his army, chase him down until you actually kill him, then go after the rest of the generals, kohlek and the bird wizard thing.
To catch them, surround with multiple armies to cut off the retreat or use ambush with a weaker army as bait.
IMO, the kiting is really annoying so i use a mod to give +10% move range within your territory. I recommend it.
Wrong. No the AI does not calculate the exact distance you can move. It just goes into march stance and moves the opposite direction.
It is possible. You must not be in any stance.
