Total War Horus Heresy
Please and thank you. Imagine Istvaan 3 or 5 with total war scale. Or hell any conflict from the books really. If you don't know what the Horus Heresy is just go type that and (art) into google images and you will see exactly what I mean.

Too much heresy.

Also I feel something that epic could create a Chaos God or something.
Chaos God of Epicness? Prince Sigvald in this totally makes me think of Fulgrim a bit.

Drawback there is the same reason we haven't had a TW game set after the Napoleonic Era - CA's combat system is based entirely around the rank-and-file, block regiments that died out sometime before WW1. 40k (and, by extention, the Horus Heresy) uses modern combat tactics; squad-level manoeuvres, mobility and heavy terrain use, and so on. Just compare the combat of the American Civil War to what was used during Operation Barbarossa. Huge difference.

CA has absolutely no experience with any other kind of combat style.

I get you, I don't mean line by line the same, but the scale of a Total War game is what the Horus Heresy era type of game would need is all I really mean. We are talking about 10's of thousands of space marines fighting each other in open combat with Primarchs thrown in there. Like for example, I like Dawn Of War 2 but I would never accept that as a good mode to portray the Horus Heresy in.

Hey, who said 'Arthas' ?!
Arthas comes to mind too in a certain way but Arthas never came across as a preening pretty boy prince man. He was a guy of action who though flawed really seemed to care about people which led to his downfall.

Fulgrim was the definition of a preening pretty boy :P. So Sigvald kind of reminds me of him, plus they both are patrons of the same Chaos God.

No, because Horus is weak. Horus is a Fool.

But Failbaddon is not much better.

While I love the horus heresy TW and 40k/HH wouldn't mix because of 1: combined arms warefare. 2: No one moves in massive formations in modern warefare aside from general movement and drill and ceremony. 3: Dawn of war needs to go back to it's roots with some added RPG elements to do HH justice and I hope they do that with Dawn of war 3.
Yeah I don't mean a direct direct literal Total War, like I said I just picture the battles as big with as many units on screen. The biggest gripe I have had about Dawn of War is the lack of scale. The original Dawn Of War games had pretty big battles sometimes but with "maybe" a max of 200 units on screen unless you have like a 8 person game going I guess.

True, although I'd rather CA concentrate on games with the combat style they're familiar with. A TW-style game based on the Horus Heresy would be awesome, but I'd actually rather it be made by someone who has experience with the more modern combat style.

Warhammer 30k would be a more accurate description. The Horus Heresy was what ended the Great Crusade and led to the half the Space Marine Legions turning traitor. And ended with Horus almost killing the Emperor and leading to him being entombed on the Golden Throne.

Hey, who said 'Arthas' ?!

hmm?
Fulgrim has his lore changed often

1. he was possessed and imprisoned in his own mind by a greater daemon of Slaanesh who ascended Daemon Princehood. Distraught and despair over the death of his brother.
2. He became imprisoned in a painting inside his ship while everything and everyone else succumbs to chaos Corruption with his body having the same stuff as above
3. He wasnt imprisoned in a painting but actually got control of his body and IS a fervent worshipper of Slaanesh and the one in the painting was the greater daemon from Laer.

Basically, WH40K Lore kinda screeewed up Fulgrim's lore.

Mortarion had a tragic way to becoming Chaos

Angron is just Angry since the day he met the Emprah.
Konrad Kruze saw it all unfolded when he met the Emprah, but what he did and how it ended could be simply him playing out what fate and destiny had weaved for him and therefore it can still be argued whether he is actually good or not?

I stand corrected. Shows how much attention I've paid to CA's work outside of the Total War franchise.
