Isn't Warcraft (1994) just a ripoff from Warhammer Fantasy (1983), like Starcraft was from 40K?

Eh its pretty much like Marvel and DC at this point.

Marvel has Thanos/Galactus and DC has Darkseid/Braniac.

They wanted to use the Warhammer Licence, but GW didn't agree to where they wanted to take it, so blizzard had to make their own lore which is based heavily on Warhammer but they toned down all the god-stuff and got inspirations for other stuff from other sources as well.

Warcraft is not a direct rip-off, but it's heavily inspired by warhammer and some other lores as well.

Starcraft is also heavily inspired by: Aliens, Warhammer 40k and Star Wars.

Daemons of chaos for me. Sargeras is badass, but he is not literally a god like khorne(i.e. existing on a different plane of existence and without a physical body).

The problem is there is only one sargeras, and then a steep cliff as far as ability goes, while daemons of chaos are more finely grained powerwise. They have plenty beings that while maybe falling short of sargeras being far more powerful than everything else in the legion. Also i think WH chaos is magically better, they probably could convert the legions grunts to their side easily unless sit upon by the big shots.

Lastly Burning legion is corporal, Sargeras could defeat a Greater Daemon of khorne every day, but if he looses once and gets "killed" thats it(his kind can die), same for lesser members. He probably can also tire, or be wounded/weakened which is a weakness of corporal beings.

TL;DR Upper echolon of chaos is stronger, grunts of legion likely fall under control due corruption.

No it's not. Warhammer unquestionably came first and was the inspiration for WoW.
Besides, Warhammer is much, much more in-depth and cooler than WoW lore. The latter is quite cartoonish and comical.

At surface value Warcraft would look cartoonish, but there is more in it than meets the eye.

Go read the Warcraft Chronicles book vol 1.

That's not the point. They can try the same thing they are doing with comic books and "rough up" their universe, make it darker or more mature, but it will always look and feel cartoonish because it was designed so. Warhammer is the opposite.

Would you say the samething to the 40k version of Warhammer?

I have no idea what you are asking here. Can you reformulate the question?
You mean if W40K is cartoonish? 40K is awfully dark and depressing. Far more than Fantasy.

And yet its character designs are beyond cartoonish, even more so than Warcraft imo.

And I thought the Warcraft were cartoony but the space marines my goodness what a stark contrast from the more realistic look of the Empire of Warhammer Fantasy.

Like Warhammer 40k just looks even more "Toy-like" than WH Fantasy and Warcraft.
