Excluding the new (2008ish+) Lore with the Lich King and Arthas Menethil

If Emperor Karl Franz with his Ghal Maraz and his legion faced of Arthas (The Lich King) wielding his Frostmourne and leading his scourge army

who would win in battle and on overall 1 on 1 combat?

Settra would roflstomp both - it took Nagash to actually defeat this guy and Nagash >>>>> Lich King

o wo oh?

Oh you dont know who are Settra the Imperishable and Nagash? :O Settra is basically a mummy crossed with Liche.
He killed Kholek Suneater in single combat which lasted 4 days, I think. On tabletop he has STR on par with Chaos Lord or Ogre Tyrant (and stronger than Grimgor).

Nagash is at least on Sargeras level of strength. He invented necromancy by himself and it took Sigmar w/ Ghal Maraz to kill him first time. Second time (?1.666 years later?) he had to be defeated by coalition of Skaven (his threat alone guaranteed their loyalty) and full might of Khemri and killed by fellblade - weapon which kills even its user, then he was burned and his ashes were release on four sides of Old world by Skaven... and he still came back.

He took army of Vampire Counts under his command and launched attack on Nehekhara. He consumed Nehekharian god of death and then launched attack on Settra´s forces. In the end it was 1v1 battle between 60ft long Nagash and Settra in chariot and Settra had enough willpower to match Nagash even after he consumed Ussirian.... the rest is in End Times novels.

I also love his beard.

Yeah but Settra's a grumpy bastard. He only gets into a fight when you darn kids start stepping on his lawn.
GrayFoxCZ 10. juni 2016 kl. 13:38
Still I wouldnt want to be on his black list :D

Karl Franz/the Empire. Arthas is strong, but Ghal Maraz and the Silver Seal tip the balance in Karl's favor (not to mention his gromril armor). The Silver Seal grants him protection against both physical and magical attacks, and can counter spells leveled against him, meaning that it would at least dampen Frostmourne's deadly potential. And since Frostmourne is really all Arthas has going for him (yes he's a good fighter, but so is Karl), Ghal Maraz would probably find a new summer home in his skull.

In the army clashing terms, the Scourge is WAY weaker than the hordes that the von Carsteins pitch against the Empire. Ghouls and necromancers don't mean much against rocket batteries and volley guns (not to mention Bright Wizards).

Tirion Fordring would beat both.

Lich kings dead raising ability trumps vampire counts by far, ensuring that Karls armies would literally never get close, as each casualty would instantly rise up to fight their former comrades.

If by some miracle Karl managed to get to the luch king he would lose, when Arthas was just a paladin it may have been a fair and even fight, but in addition to his near unmatched swordsmandship the lich king weilds frostmourne one of the most powerful weapons in warcraft history, that will literally end the fight the second Karl falters for even a moment.

what if Karl Franz became Exalted? which he did while in the final battle with Archaon after Archaon removing both his arms, Karl Franz died but in his death, his body was possessed by a shard of Sigmar and became Sigmar reborn to fight Archaon... would Exalted Karl Franz be able to beat down Frostmourne wielding Lich King?
Attackmack 10. juni 2016 kl. 18:27
Since warhammer ♥♥♥♥♥ on warcraft, Karl Franz would make Arthas his ♥♥♥♥♥.
Wouldnt even break a sweat.

No, im not biased or a fanboy, promise.

he has 5 minute bubble and allowed to send raised dedz instantly back to the mud they came from (hushbringer, biyatch)

Wait is this the Empire v the Scourge, or just Karl and Arthas 1v1?

And what's with this Tirion coming out of nowhere? And what reason would he have to fight Karl? Wouldn't it make more sense if it wwas just a brawl between good and bad? Karl and Tirion v. Arthas and Archaon? Wait no, that's unfair, Karl and Tirion v. Arthas and Crom.
