Is Eldar a possibility down the road?
I'm pretty new to the lore all together, i played the warhammer "rts" games many years ago and fell in love with the eldar.

so my question is: is it possible to see eldar as a dlc faction\race down the road, or is the TW warhammer set in a different time period where eldar was not invovled or something..

please refrain from mocking or talking trash just because im clueless about the lore (trying to learn it)

The Eldar are a race in Warhammer 40K, which is the science fiction alternate reality to Warhammer Fantasy represented here. Their equivalent here would be the High Elves who are not in this game. They will be added in one of the standalone expansions down the road though.
Eldars are in Warhammer 40000 where its more futuristic, this is Warhammer Fantasy, their equivalent are the elves in this setting.

Like the others have said, the Eldar don't exist in WHFB. The closest thing would be the High Elves (their direct counterpart), who will almost certainly be a playable faction in one of the expansion down the line.

On top of the High Elves there are also the Dark Elves and the Woodelves who all play radically differently from each other. High elves are even on the map already (they are in the woods along the south eastern part of Bretonnia).

You mean Wood Elves, they live in the forest of Athel Loren.

High Elves live on an Island/Small Continent between the Old World and the New World.
The Elves live on the Forrest are the Woodelves. The Dark Elves live on the other Continent in the Harsh North.

As many others already said. There are no Eldar in WHF. They are a 40k Race. and that has nothing to do with the Fantasy Setting. High Elves are not the same. The closest Faction to compare with the Eldar but still really different. Not even from the Technology standpoint.

Don't quote me on it, but if I'm not mistaken Eldar have not yet found out travel through the webway. IDK if lore is moving on throughout these games cuz I haven't stayed with that kinda crap (I kno 40k lore is moving) so maybe Eldar will find webway travel and find themselves in the middle of fantasy. Like I said don't quote me on it...

incompatible origins. the eldar are the product of controlled evolution and genetic engineering done by the old ones, as a weapon against the c'tan.

the "old ones" are the 40k equivilent of the lizardmen.

the old ones also taught the eldar about the webway.

warhammer: fantasy is totally unconnected with 40k, on the narrative level. the past of 40k is the real world we live in today, not WH:F.
