The main issue I see with this quote is that the only place that has it is 1d4chan..... Usually if you pull a quote from a book you can find it posted in multiple sources across a couple websites. Not necessarily just that single quote on its own unless it's considered a great piece of writing. However usually as part of larger posts about the book.
Lol. Why did you copy what I said?
I'll put the full paragraph from 1d4chan up if you want:
"During the End Times, he leads the last of the loyal ogre armies in the last war against the orcs. Though Grimgor had the numbers, Greasus commanded the largest army of ogres the world had ever seen. The war drags on until Grimgor and Greasus meet on the battlefield, both wanting to test their strength against the others. They duel for hours, Greasus' club giving him the strength to match the incarnate of beasts blow for blow. At the end, Greasus disarms Grimgor and is about to win, but lets hubris get the best of him. Tossing his club aside, he tries to pick up Grimgor and squeeze the life out of him the way he did to the last black orc war boss he fought. Instead, Grimgor avoids him, picks up the scepter and smashes in his skull. With this, the last of the Loyal ogres abased themselves before Grimgor and the ogre kingdoms as a nation were no more."
Ok guys. Let's get back to the damn topic a little.
Could Da Great WAAAGH! have defeated the Hordes of Skaven?
I'd like to know what people thought of that in particular.
No no, I found it on 1d4chan by a quick search and read it. My issue is that I can't find it anywhere else and I've checked through a few sites. Still looking though.
Didn't Grimgor (Hell, pre-incarnate Grimgor even) basically clear out Hellpit, clan Moulder's favorite hang-out? I'd give him good odds with the enormous WAAAAAGH at his back now.
Yes, it is possible. However just realize any and all answers you get in here will be entirely hypothetical and heavily influenced by peoples biases.
To answer your question and add to it. No one knows the actual measure in power between the 2 as their number and power is not directly stated. So you can come up with hypothetical scenarios where either side would win.
This, however you have to realize that there's so much more to skaven than that. You could make plenty of arguments for grimgore being taken down by warpwind, warp lightning etc.
The first thing that came to my mind that he'd probably not enjoy too much would be dealing with Clan Pestilens, admittedly. Even the mighty axe of Khorne can't quite cleave apart poison gas.
my brain is too full of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to understand that, and the fact i can't simply argue it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reminds me what a fat mess the whole end times were....
I'm sorry to hear that.
On one hand you say that Greasus wasnt just an ogre, he were the king of ogres and with a scepter that gave him the strength of a sky titan, so a pretty special and powerful character indeed. On the other hand you say that how could grimgor hope to beat chaos if he was almost beaten by an ogre. But he wasnt almost beaten by just an ogre was he?
Also whats so special abouth archaeon besides having plot armor? He is a man inside a suit of armor, sure he has very powerful magic items and is probably blessed with greater strength and speed by the chaos gods, but in reality any powerful warhammer character would have a theoretical chance of killing him given powerful enough magic items, like gotreks axe for instance. What if someone had smashed him in the face with a highly magical warhammer when he was lying on the ground after grimgor headbutted him? Dead, dead, dead. The only thing that would save him is plot armor. :D
In my oppinion archeon is a pathetic piece of ♥♥♥♥ that needs a shrink bad. I would love to target him with a 50 megatonn nuke and see the chaos gods piss their pants but thats my personal fantasy. :D
Lastly, ♥♥♥♥ end times, crappy writing and just a way to rewrite the entire universe. in my book it dont exist. End times? What end times?
Well I don't think all of the End Times were completely bad, just about 80-90% of them. Like the last Battle of Kara-Za-Karak. That was pretty awesome and badass. Thorgrim choosing to have the Dwarves go out on their own terms rather than just be overrun by the vile ratmen.
