Wulfrik's Seafang ability
Just started playing as Norsca and Wulfrik's Seafang ability is probably one of the lamest things I've ever seen in a game. I know it's all fantasy (obviously) and whatnot but the ability to throw a longboat onto a battlefield that then disappears is laughable

What were they thinking?!

Thoughts?

Not seen this, but sounds hillarious. Reminds me of Rome total war 2 when it was bugged and released the boats would sail through desert sands like something of pirates caribean 3.

Seafang is a chaos longboat that teleports around in return for a blood sacrifice and lets wulfrik go wherever he wants, its a big part of his lore so i guess that's why they wanted it represented in some way.

Well, the actual Norse myths include Skíðblaðnir, a ship that always had favourable winds, could sail on land and could be folded together to fit in a pocket. So it's pretty obvious what Seafang is based on.

It would probably have been better represented by some weird movement mechanic, though.

@Wyvern and @Cornelius..
Good knowledge the both of you. I think it does look ridiculous though and the movement mechanic is a great idea

Never saw it in a game, but looked it up on YT and yeah -it looks silly.

Giving him access to Beastman special movement would be an easy fix, imho. Preferably combined with a skill that gives extra strategic movement bonuses in stance. Not as sexy as something unique, but at least it would make more sense.

I have to agree. I really had to laugh the first time ive seen this. Its a stupid Ability. But for an Faction that didnt exist in the Original Warhammer Tabletop im happy they didnt add more Strage stuff.
Think about it: Warhammer did envolve over many Years. And now CA adds stuff that never existed in some month.

I would have rather you had a teleport movement mechanic rather than the special attack. In the lore he travels on the winds of chaos and is able to drop out into the real world. It would have been nice to cut through the mountains like the dwarfs to move around the map faster. The power is in the dragon head and not the ship. The ship was once destroyed and rebuilt around the dragon head. I don't know if Seafang was a item quest, it should have been if not. Wulfrik gathered an army to take it from some Witch that had it guard by some deamons.

How would he fit an entire army into the ship to cross said mountain...
A special movement stance is even more retarded than the death stomp ability. At the very least it's current implementation is hilarious.

In the books he slaves other ships to the Seafang and they're brought along with. But when they pass through the realm of chaos that the Seafang uses to travel, they are also in a realm among demons. So some of the ships don't make it, and some of the crew are driven mad and lure the attention of the demons and are killed on the voyage. Norscans are like Vikings but even more badass, so it's worth the risk to them, especially to fight with a hero like Wulfrik.

It's pretty cool. It, as far as I know, doesn't give the ship the ability to travel on land though. It can only teleport on the sea and only to where Wulfrik wants it to go. He also makes all new crew members bleed into the dragon head to make sure none of them can ever control it. I personally can't stand the army ability for it. For a character that travels all of the world on a magical ship they really didn't do either justice.
