I know. Played them too. Such stuff is just passive now. you dont need an extra stance for that. Dwarves just got shieldwall. There is already enough Micromanagement for most Factions. Some people are already overwhelmed by them. Look how many had problems playing Woodelves because you need to do more then just move forward into the enemys.
The only thing that's passive is the act of bracing before a charge.
Aside from bracing, unit formations in Total War: Warhammer aren't handled passively though, they just don't exist. Lol.
But, like Shador said, there is quite a that is actually handled passively. Units will automatically hold up their shields when they're being fired on, etc etc.
I usualy move Archers on the side.. on most city maps the left side. If you go as much left as you can the tower cant target you because you are out of the fire Arc. In some maps this dont work and the one tower can target you still but your archers can kill the unit near the tower and it will also stop firing.
That way i get minimal dead ranged units. The Infantry is a big blob at the Gates and also safe from the Towers.
Who the hell uses wedge? lol.
Wedge was amazing in previous total war games, allowed your cavalry to rotate faster and increased their impact in charging.
Also funny to use with infantry. Set them up like spiky teeth.
