Orion Skill Build
Not sure where to go with him. With the Glade Lords Grabbing one tree blocks the other one, so it makes sense to focus on ranged or melee for both army and personal skills, but Orion can grab ANYTHING. I already have all the ranged army bonuses, but I'm unsure what to get next. Does it make sense to keeps with the ranged setup or make him a melee beast, or should I grab the melee army buffs and take the tradeoff with lower personal stats?

i think you should get the melee buffs for your army, combine that with the wild hunt event and your army is unstoppable

I find that Orion without any personal buffs is still a terror on the battlefield, so I deck him out first with the army-wide buffs to missile damage and movement speed. Archers are important to Wood Elves, especially during the early game, so getting that stuff early goes quite far.

Then I go for the army-wide buffs to armour, melee defence/attack and weapon strength. Elves are rather dinky in melee, and you'll be competing with large troops of Bestigors and stuff soon enough.

Finally, I go down his personal melee buffs for luxury. His ranged potential is fine, but it's a bit of a waste to have a Terror-inducing unit not somewhere in the scrim working their magic. I also pick up the 10% campaign movement along the way.

yup, Orion is legit in melee without needing to progess his personal tree, get the Speed buff, than the Melee Att/Def buff. Ranged damage, then armour, then melee damage.
