This mod makes units last longer in battle without changing unit's stats.
It'll only increase your battles by a few minutes but it does the job for me.
I do that sometimes too. important battles i play the first half in slow speed the 2nd half in fast speed. As soon its over and only a matter of time till i won i go on fast forward.
I think part of the reason they are now so quick is because the Total War games had previously been blasted for having overly large fight times. I remember games where the AI would just stay in position in front of your town for an hour if you let it - which you sometimes were tempted to do, if they had enough troops or the right composition to beat you outside of your fortifications.
The way they now did it gives people a quicker fight with more action, but loses some of the realistic feel.
You know, that feeling you got when you let your melee units sink their teeth into the enemy line for 5 minutes, waiting for them to come to the lowest morale levels so that your cavalry charge would break them and give you the victory.
I'm going to download that mod because I don't mind spending some mre time for the battles. ^^
Maybe something like a slider at game start or in the options to regulate how fast units break? That would also make abilities such as fear and other morale modifiers more relevant, I believe. At the moment units break so fast it almost feels like a waste to invest in anything to make it happen like 10 seconds sooner. o.o
Its no fun for me watching some Infantry fighting another infantry and nothing happens for minutes. You stare at your monitor.. waiting for something to happen.. click a spell or a ability here and there..and your troops hugging the enemy troops and nothing happens.
Maybe its because im a tabletop player first and a TW: player 2nd. I usualy charge an enemy and try to kill it with the initial charge and one round of battle. TW:W is much longer when it comes to that.. you never kill an enemy with the charge... there is always some fighting after the charge.
How makes "longer battles" a game less casual?
If i compare older TW games with TW:W i think there is much more desicions in a battle today. And that makes is less casual for me.
i so hoped that attila put an end to all of this but no its right back to taking out features... STOP CA -.-
But they adding Magic, Monsters, Flying units, Moon phase, Amber, Waargh, Legenday Lords. a.s.o.
