Elfs or Elves?
Like the title says, if it's Dwarfs and not Dwarves then shouldn't it be Elfs rather than Elves?

Both dwarfs and dwarves works for the plural of dwarf, elf only has elves.
Sorry to sound like I'm being a bit pedantic but I'm bored.

In German it's Elf (m) , Elfe (f) and Elfen (pl).

You can say dwarfen, but you cant say elfen...

It's not "dwarfs". It's both really. Dwarves is spelling Tolkien created and nowdays, when taling about the fantasy race, either is grammatically correct, so just take your pick. Just make sure you use dwarfs when talking about people suffering from dwarfism, because dwarves is considered somewhat offensive, much like asking them why they don't have a beard.

It's similar with elf, I think people won't berate you for either, but frankly, I do believe "elfs" is not gramatically correct, unlike "dwarfs" where both is acceptable.

Uhm, I do. Plural means more than one, therefore when replacing the letter 'F' in one word then why isn't the same letter replaced in the other word? It's a relatively simple if slightly pedantic point.

Repeating it don't make you right, just totally annoying...

Let me butt in, as I said above, this is just about acceptance of different spelling. It comes down to Tolkien. It used to be Dwarfs and Elfs. Tolkien introduced Dwarves and Elves. Now both spellings are accepted, but while Dwarfs stayed in dictionaries, while Elfs got mostly removed. I suppose it might be because of the real world equivalents, where we have dwarfs, but not elfs.
