Dwarf Brewery
Hi TW Nutters.

Only just started playing Warhammer, though should have done so ages ago it's that good.

However, I have a question;

Playing as the Dwarves, there is a unit I called the Bugman's Rangers.

Apparently, you can "purchase / train" these troops once you have built a Dwarf Brewery.

Trouble is, I can't find a Dwarf Brewery in any of the Building sections.

Any suggestions as to where it may be, or can it be built in only one district?

Any help on this matter whould be most appreciated.

As far as i know you can build breweries only in Zufbar and Kraka Drak provinces. And only Kraka Drak can build it in it's capital and fully upgrade. The one in Zufbar is built in one of its smaller settlements. You do not just go and brew dwarf bear anywhere. Beer is the tradition and art.

they literally brew beer in every hold, and many mines and smaller outposts. beer is a tradition and art, and like most artists, they constantly strive to perfect their art wherever they may be.

they probably intend that they're the only breweries large enough to be able to withstand the manner of drinking bugman's rangers can get down to!

These places have breweries in-game (that I remember):

Karak Izor
Karak Kadrin
the other settlement in Zufbar that isn't Oakenhammer (can't remember the name)
Kraka Drak
and I'm pretty sure there's one that's to the very far south, but I can't remember exactly where

The one near Zufbar is probably the easiest to get, unless you start as Clan Angrund who already own Karak Izor.

It's a "strategic resource" just like Salt, Iron etc. You need to get a settlement or city that has the little Beer Mug Icon next to the name and build the unique building there.

Yes, Beer is brewed everywhere, but there are "special" breweries, whose beer is more famous than others. Bugman's Best for example is a legendary beer brand among dwarves.

The brewery gives a tradeable resource (one of the more valuable ones) as well as bonus to public order and growth. It's like 3 buildings in one. So it's only available in a few provinces.

Not just among the Dwarfs. Bugman's XXXXXX is considered the single best alcoholic drink in the world. A single barrel is worth a king's ransom to any alcohol drinking race that aren't Elves (who prefer wine to beer). Even his lower quality stuff is prized beyond the works of lesser brewers. There's a reason why the destruction of his brewery has an entire page dedicated to it in the Dammaz Kron.

Karak Dromar I believe.
Thanks for all your replies.
All, most interesting to read.
I hasten to add that it’s NOT “Almost interesting to read”, which has a totally different connotation to “All, most interesting to read.”!!

At first, when you wrote Bugman's XXXXXX, I was racking my brain to think of a blanked out, offensive, 6 letter word.
Sadly, so, so many came to mind. But that’s me being old and... Wise!!??
Then I had a flash of inspiration. A “Light bulb moment!”
It was not an offensive word that had been blanked out (By the powers that be.), but that it was Bugman’s 6 “X”. As in Castlemaine 4 “X”, the Aussie lager!!

Enjoy the above adverts if you’ve not seen them before. I’m just about to re-watch them, they’re that good. And again, thanks for all the above help :steamhappy:

I personally never bother getting Bugman Rangers, in a typical Dwarf campaign by the time I can get them I already got Thunderers and researched to get them with some hefty XP to start. Rangers don't even get many tech benefits, they take longer to train, require some unique requirements, and end up just being super Quarrellers.

Still, the Brewery building is a must-have for any settlement, anyways.
