So say Tim, Alex, Jane and Maria are doing a 2v2 match - the girls have their games set to Large unit size, Alex has his cranked up to Ultra but poor Tim has had to turn his down to Low since he's having to use his backup gaming laptop after an unfortunate accident involving a large Coke from McDonalds and a surprise ambush from his pet cat. In this 2v2, the armies would all be on Low unit size because Tim has the lowest option in that setting of the four players - cue Tim blaming the damn cat.
Quick Battle, on the other hand, always defaults to Large unit size to ensure a level playing field (since Quick Battles are the ones the Leaderboards track).
