Norsca, the faction with no upkeep (Endgame)
So, I commited and finished my devotion to the wolf. Got the artillery for my troubles. But the other gods where jealous and send some guys to kill me. No problem, took them out. Then a mission to finish this part. This seemed to trigger the chaos invations. Now I had a choice, Support them, Or destroy them. I choose destroy, and if you kill all guys you get 75% reduction in support cost. This combined with the various other support cost reductions, and now I am paying like 5 gold per unit in support. I can field pretty much endless armies.

I think they made that last bonus to high, should be like 10 or 15%. 75% is just crazy.

it's fine, cause if you join chaos you get endless armies of top teir chaos armies or you become chaos pretty much.

I mean, if you're unprepared taking on archaon you'll get obliterated by his stacks

Except that each new lord army cost +4 population from previous pool.
It starts as 2, then 6, 10, 14...
At some point generating new lords became a little bit trouble some.

The only hero who can get a +20 growth which equals 1 population is Archaon, but even so he needs 2 random generated things.
1 trait that gives +3 growth,
1 follower that gives +2 growth.
Castle lv 5 gives +5 growth.
Crown +5 growth (unique item, Archaon only.)
Tribes of Chaos +5 Growth.

These 2 random generated are pretty dam rare to drop. So he'll mostly end up with +15 growth.
Now say we want our 6th general new (not counting our starting LL). That would require 22 population, in other words it would take 30 turns for Archaon only, which has the highest growth. Then I would've to build the new horde from scratch which would take a lot of extra turns...
Any new general would require +4 population stacking from previous value... So each new general would require more and more turns, and it would also require turns to level up the horde.

So yeah, horde can get units almost free, but... It's not even close as it's for Norsca.

Some of the units I had required 0 upkeep, it was really neat, almost makes me happy I killed the warriors of chaos.

Haven't got so far in the campaign yet I just finished burning Kislev and now im doing monster hunts with Wulfrik while Throgg burns Bretonnia.

Im definately wrecking Archaon's parade and taking his stuff though.

Once you are strong enough to destroy Chaos the game is pretty much won anyways. The reduced upkeep just speeds it up a bit.

Yea, I find the end game for most factions is pretty booring. Once you reach critical mass there is little to challenge you. But with Norsca it seems that you reach this critical mass pretty fast.

To be fair this is a problem with all grand strategy games. Total War, Civilization, all of them suffer from that. Paradox games areguably don't because a lot of things can get screwed up after your ruler dies.
