Why the animal Gods instead of the Chaos ones?

They are the same, but with different names.

But I don't know why. I mean, not a Norsca lore expert but never saw those animal references in any Warhammer lore.

They have always worship some sort of animal spirit or some "nordic" gods.

Obvious those r chaos gods under dif pretence.

Not like uneducated, savage barbarians know any dif anyway. They r illeterate, prolly doesnt even know the dif between a dog and a tiger.

We r talking about a race as stupid as orks. To put it simply, they r human version of ork.

Are those guesses or backed by lore?
There is some precedent for it in the lore:

Norscan religion is based primarily around the worship of the Chaos Gods, which are venerated by various local aspects and names both similar to and distinct to those they are known by to the scholars and priests of the Empire.

Emphasis mine. The quote itself is taken from the Warhammer Fantasy wikia, the heading for the quote tags is just regurgitating the source listed at the bottom of the page. Whether the book lists examples of these alternate names, I don't know, but precedence for Norscans referring to the Chaos Gods by other names does exist.

EDIT: Also, I don't mean any offence by this; but did anyone else get a little chuckle at the irony of DesertsOfKharak's post? Referring to the Norscans as illiterate barbarians while his own post is full of spelling errors? Again; no offense to Deserts, just found the irony amusing.

To keep it simple:

"Norse religion is dynamic and complex, featuring a broad pantheon. Norse worship mainly Dark Gods using human sacrifices. These Dark Gods include Chaos Gods Khorne, Nurgle, Slaanesh and Tzeentch. Norse have many names for these Gods. But Norse also worship other beings (many seem to be Daemon and Daemon Princes) and spirits of ancestors and heroes. There also seems to be other Gods, which might be Gods that are not related to Chaos.
Main themes for Norse pantheon include: War, Desire, Decay and Hope. Their Pantheon rarely features just a single God per theme, rather they may have several."

Common names for the Dark Gods in Norsca:

Khorne > Arkhar, Kharnath
Nurgle > Neiglen, Nurglitch, Onogal
Tzeentch > Tchar
Slaanesh > Lanshor, Shornaal

The only thing that bothers me is that the in-game reward for worshipping Khorne (The Hound) is an Hellcannons unit.

Hellcannons. To Khorne. Seriously.

Well at first it seemed like Shadow was being a bit full, but after that post Deserts, you certainly confirmed you are the one full of it.

Hellcannons from Khorne because Egil, a Champion of Khorne, and Leader of the Skaeling, used them heavily in his attack of Bretonnia. It's a stretch, but whatever. Khorne also has Skullcannons so let's not act like he completely disaproves.

Also there are four great Tribes in Norsca that each venerate a specific Aspect of the Dark Gods.

Tzeentch is the Great Eagle, and his tribe is second in power.

Slaanesh is the Mighty Serpent, and his tribe is the weakest in power.

Khorne is the Viscious Hound, and his tribe is the strongest of all four amongst the Norse.

Nurgle is the Festering, Skeleton Crow, and his tribe was once lead by Valnir the Reaper.

Second most ignorant thing I've seen all day.
i'm a little disappointed they only used the chaos gods, and we dont' get a non-chaos option or lord. neither of the LLs really make too much sense as norscan instead of just straight chaos units.

then again, a lot of this army list makes no sense.

Suggesting each chaos god has over 1000 different names it suffices to change it up, especially for a faction that believes in them as animalistic properties.

You... you did read the part where I said I didn't mean any offence by it, didn't you? I was just commenting on the irony, wasn't trying to say anything about you in particular. Sorry if you took it that way, but it was not my intention. That's why I said I didn't mean any offence by it twice.
