Life of a halfling in the Empire?
Seems too many theres too many tall men in the empire. I mean you would think that fighting the undead/orcs and chaos they would recruit some halflings to fill in the ranks at least on crossbows or teach them magic.. common show the manlets some love.

Pffft... The halflings wouldnt join even if they were wanted. They arent like LotR hobbits. They are lazy little ♥♥♥♥♥ and tbh the only Warhammer precense they have is in Blood Bowl.

Army cooks with a potential offensive application if required (Halfling Hotpot) or short (literally) bowmen and scouts.
Can't think of any other military role they could fill as well or better than full sized men. I'm sure that in a civvie sense, at home in the Shi-... uh, Moot, they do all the things big folks do but on a smaller scale. I assume they're afforded similar rights legally in the Empire as humans but from an individual standpoint that probably lessens the further you get from the Moot.
I never used them or saw them used in TT (outside of White Dwarf battle reports) though I did use Ratlings in Epic, they had their uses (along with Imperial Guard Beastmen)

yeah, if i recall correctly one of the Emperors who was obsessed with fine foods gave them a seat among the elector counts.

and there was a mercenary unit in the older editions:

Halflings are generally pretty bad at combat, though their steam tank could be useful

Ha.

I get this is a joke making fun of the "why aren't everyone women" thread, but halflings aren't strictly uncommon in the armed forces they just serve as scouts and skirmishers rather than frontline troops. They're actually really good in those roles (Halfling archers are some of the best in the Empire), most of them just aren't especially interested in fighting unless it's to defend their homes.

Halflings were one of the results of the old Ones trying to creat a race resistant to chaos. Other were Ogres, an obvious fail, and dawi who got a high resistance to chaos and magic but unfortunately are not capable of chaneling the Winds of magic themselves, but still corruptable. Halflings are all but immune to magic, and obviouly can't use it themselves too, however unlike dawi they have other problems, like them been glutonous and vulgar ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and weak as boiled noodles.

Actually the Halflings were the failiure and the Ogres were the success, the Old Ones just ran out of time before they could put the finishing touches on them.

They should add a halfling unit if you own the moot. It would be comparable to nasty skulkers but perhaps slightly less melee attack value but can use slings.

And then there was the halfing hotpot.... where, before one battle, a very large and complex stew was being made by the halfings, and then goblin wolf riders attacked the camp, and one of them had his head chopped off and it fell in the stew. Distraught, the halflings loaded the whole cauldron of tainted dinner into a crude catapult and chucked it at the greenskin army. It turned out to be a universal solvent for greenskin flesh only. Nothing like seeing an orc unit melting to shred morale... And while they've never managed to get the recipie quite the same again, it's always been amusing....

So the halflings have troops (halfling skirmishers), an elite unit: Lumpin Croops Fighting (Male Chickens), and an artillery piece! And they even have an Elector...

I agree, it fit in, if you could recruit them from there.

I started this thread as a joke, but that would be awesome.
