None of them. There is no British counterpart in Warhammer. Bretonnia is similar in name only, since technically Arthurian Legend isn't a strictly British thing, and Albion is pre-Roman Briton, but England itself has no equivalent.

alright some thing about the War hammer is that its based after different Real Life societies that have come and gone (and some are still with us).

For example;

Bretonnia - Combination of France and arthurian legeng.

Orks - UK rugby teams

Vampire counts - Eastern Europe specifically transylvania.

Hordes of Chaos - Vikings; literaly Archaon the Everchosen is a over hyped Viking get up.

The empire - Germany

Kislev - Russia

Tomb Kings - Egypt

Lizardman - Aztecs ( I think ).

High elves - The british

Dark elves - The Americans

Skaven - A mix of Nazis and the Jews ( Warhammer was made in the 1980's where this kind of Dark humor was acceptable).

Thats all I got for right now.

kislev is more polish then russian though, i would say they are a mix off russia and poland, more leaning towards polish

England would be Bretonia.

1. The Grail is part of English history not French.
2. The Green Knight is from the book Sir Gwain and the Green Knight. A medieval English book.
3. Peasant bowman seem to use longbows, an almost exclusively English weapon.

The French provide the names of the characters and settlements.

Greenskins = Millwall FC.
Bretonnia = England
Bordeleaux = French
Empire = German

Based on looks I'd say Goblins.

But the real answer is simple. Warhammer is heavily based on earth, geography is the same, lots of parallels to be made (with very obvious references).
Take Araby, which means Arabia, and is exaclty like Arabia back in the days with coastal cities, a desert, heaps of wealth and ultra-religious people.
Same goes for the mystical lands in the far-east; Cathy (old world for China).

Now by that logic Britain would be Albion, which is a Greek word for Britain, a rainy, foggy island off the coast of France/Bretonia inhabited by Celtic warrior like people.

Albion, despite the name, is Ireland. Almost every faction has something "british" in it, because, guess what, Games Workshop is an english brand.
Also, if I remember correctly, in the Warhammer settings High Elves speak with an English Cornwall accent, Dwarves have Scottish accent and Orcs speak the worst Cockney.
Albion is clearly based on pre-roman Britain.
Please, ALL, read the other comments before commenting about factions we already discussed about... Albion IS(and it is said by gamersworshop themself) based of the British isles, for the last 20 or so comments jim866 was right. But please just read other comments before making a discussion that already made it's end before...

Orcs and Goblins represents warbands from the(real world) Dark Ages.
Goblins, especially their wolf riders, are based on Mongols/central-Asian nomads that invaded Europe. Just look at their hats for example and the light cav tactics.

Also the Vampire Counts live in Sylvania, once again an obvious reference to Transsylvania which is the region in Romania vampires are said to hail from.

Neither. The whole point in Warhammer is that most of the races represent an aspect of British culture. The dwarves are based on north-western English miner communities, and they feature some celtic/nordic design features. The Wood Elves have been retconned into being celtic Britons, with their druidic nature, woad tattoos etc. The Orcs are footy hooligans, the High Elves are southern, cultured/poncy, etc. etc. There is the island of Albion, which is the closest thing to a land mass representing the Brittish isles. Bretonia is the closest thing to a human faction representing the UK (pre-union England to be exact), and it is reflective of England ruled by a French-speaking, francophillic aristocracy, ruling over a scabby Anglo-Saxon peasantry (hence French accents for knights, and English accents for the peasants). Empire? Not a British bone in their body.

This is the only answer that has any meaning in this thread and makes sense.
