Pegasus are for anti large (cavalry/flyers/monsters) or quick rear charges

Hippos are just your typical terror unit for mass routing

OP you're a man of few words, aren't you? You haven't specified if you're asking about campaign or online matches. If it's campaign then you could make any of these units work well, although you obviously want a lord with the appropriate vows and it's a big ask to sink 3 skill points in getting the grail vow - therefore lots of armies are better off using regular pegusas knights but Louen can take any of them from the get go.
If it's mp then it's all about relative points values and performance but they're probably all fine - someone who plays Brets online such as LadyMina might have an opinion on this.

Royal are an upgrade from normal, so always go royal pegasus.

Imo royal pegasus , flying fagile unit should do much damage in short time then retreat but hyphogryph didn't good for that reason also Questing knight are better and cheaper in this role.
