Warhammer won't start! *FIXED*
Old: For some reason I can't get Total War: Warhammer to boot up on my laptop. It's worked fine before earlier, I even played it today before the trouble. I've validated the files with Steam, deleted all content and redownloaded it, and I am using the same computer I've racked up 166 hours in the game. I've no idea why it won't boot up now. It'll say its loading, the library tab says it's Running, but after about 12 seconds it just seems to stop and quit before anything happens.

New: I got it working! I just renamed the Warhammer folder itself inside the Creative Assembly folder.
1. Right click start button
2. Run
3. Type %appdata%
4. Find and open The Creative Assembly folder
5. Rename the Warhammer folder you see

After that I got the launcher finally and had no trouble from there!

Are you using any mods?

If you are, try disabling them all and try again.

Aside from that, I havent got any other ideas.

Can't disable any mods to begin with. It won't start. Period. It says "preparing to start Total War Warhammer" then everything just stops. Steam doesnt crash, and i can load every other game i have just fine. I didn't download any extra mods or anything. I just restarted my computer and that's it.

If you use Razer Synapse enter into task manager and terminate Razeringameengine.exe that help me ...

Have you updated your graphics drivers recently? or does the launcher not even open?

Do this.

-right click on start button and select run
-type %appdata%
-go to The Creative Assembly folder and then rename the warhammer folder to something else.

Then try start it up again.

I've checked my drivers and they are updated, though for the past month the launcher said my drivers might not be up to date, even though they were. But my problem is i don't even get a launcher. Steam says "Preparing to launch" then that window goes away, and in my library it stops saying Running. Task Mannager confirms it only loads for about 12 seconds before totally closing on its own. Though lemme try to rename the folder.

Mmmhm, though for some reason whenever i restart my computer it says it's not even installed on steam before i messed with any warhammer files. though when i go to reinstall it recognieses the files and installs them fine. verified by steam as well.

This worked perfectly. Just rename folder and it launches fine.

I just got the game and it's not showing in The Creative Assembly folder. Shogun 2 and Napoleon are. This fix seems to work for most people but I can't do it without the folder :/ Any thoughts??

This lists all the options: my problem was the empty preferences folder. You can find that solution on the bottom of the list

Ok :

I have the same problem and another one :

I do NOT understand a single word about how to fix this :
Where do you guys ever find a start button ?
And where would be the run option ?
In which world would such a thing as %appdata% would be understood ?

And, last but not least, how come two multimillionaires world corporation would publish things such as this link : https://support.sega.co.uk/hc/en-gb/articles/209068385#CheckPrefScript and expect anyone to understand anything ?

All I understood was to uninstall AGAIN the game and perhaps I4ll get to play a few more hours...
