Yeah but Im gonna need them soon in my campaign, wiped out the orcs & moving up to take on Vampire Counts (I think they are soft targets to fire weapons?) Anyway, that's about the only thing I would use them for.

There is a huge difference between flying archers and flying artillery. Artillery can do far more damage than archers, and it becomes a massive problem if you can't rush and shut it down fast the way you can with regular artillery. Also, flying artillery means you won't have to worry about obstacles.
