game is ok but...
I only just got the game and it seems ok but there a few things I dont think are working that well

- ammo is to scarce or 2 hard to make cost so much materials especially if you doing radio quest, there is no point giving anyone points in weapons as you never have enough ammo to make it worthwhile, i ran out of ammo on like day 3 and have not got any since (or enough to make it worthwhile putting points into guns). I have just put all my points into melee and first aid completely ignoring guns on all characters

- the quest to collect 50 materials was abit short, i missed out by 10 materials and unfortunately i spent some buying health kits since my ppl were all to hurt to be any good and i was trying to do the forst quest as well

- I really like the zombie variety and their differnt buffs, but I find as you get higher in level it doesnt really matter what buffs they have as they dont get a chance to use them if you have 3 survivors most zombies are dead in 1 round

- everything costs material but you never have enough, i get this is to try and make you priortise items but you lose out on getting to make all the stuff.

- only male character - ahem!!!

- it would be cool to be able to build your defences somehow

- you need someone on guard quite regular which also takes away from getting other resources and since failing the radio tower quest i have not had any quests but have been invaded every night so can not craft anything as i am guarding and so have to get my party to get food during the day so even if i wanted to explore other places I am limited by my need for food

When you die (game over) you get medals to spend to make your next run through upgraded, more times you play, the better things become.

"Should you fail to survive the apocalypse, you can purchase upgrades with medals earned in previous playthroughs to give your new character an edge to start with.
Unlocked pre-apocalypse professions of your character allow you to specialize in various jobs.
Each new playthrough offers different random missions and survivors to meet. "

i am up to day 15 2nd play through and melee is on all my ppl and i have no clothes, and am killing everything without issue

Quite a bit of tweaking of the gameplay and some issues ill grant, but thats all part of early access. Its in good shape though as far as some early access games go that i have bought.

oh yea i am not saying the game is bad just my thoughts on what could be impoved.

I am up to day 16 on my 2nd run through (i screwed up first one due to lack of game knowledge) and after failing the radio tower quests and getting no more quests it all my characters are at level 10 and its a bit redudant, I read it goes to level 20 but dont really see a point in carrying on

i prefer to have quests so having none for the last 4 day has not helped.

I also wont be doing another play through, not dismissing the game and dont regret buying it however definitely needs more content to hold interest.

currently personally i would not recommend this game to people until there is more content. repeating similar content with small boosts from medals not really my sort of thing.

I will wait till there is more content, definitely a game i want to come back to and play more of when there is more to it

i may play through again (not today) to see if there are more quests if you successfully complete the radio tower quest. I would say that if failing that quests kills the storyline you might want to consider offering the quest again after a couple of days, otherwise its just have to die and start over if you fail which is pretty lame.

btw part of the reason i failed is the quest said "1 day left" so i took this to mean I had 1 more day, so ended the day planning to get more resources on the final day, only to find the quest had failed. If i had known that 1 more day counted the day I was currently on, I would have sold some items to make up the resources i needed

I had the same experience with a quest telling me "1 day left" and next day I could have finished the quest but it counted as fail because of time out :-/ Improvement needed here and also some balancing because you can do all fights with melee. I found an level 3 Uzi , equipped it but had no reason to use it .. feels wierd X-D But its a really good game and I enjoyed my first try very much !

@Star do you have a save game with your party with all melee? Would be a help . I can do that too, but we could spare some time for the next update. ;) The save location is here: C:\Users\Username\AppData\LocalLow\SilentDreams\DeadAge save1.xml is profile 1 eg You could send us this file to contact@silentdreams.de . We'll check the balancing.

How about ammunition. I tuned it before release. But you have to check the frequent finds. for example the forest. Often you can craft 1 ammunition every day if you go to a location with frequent find: ammunition. And important could also be the engineering supplies. Molotow cocktails and traps for example.

Hi all,

few suggestions:

- fights need balance, i' have not a full melee party but it really looks like melee is more efficient then ranged.

- the counter for raid / zombie attack on the camp is at zero but i get raided (onestly 1 time in 10 days). so i assume that you must have always people on guard. It's ok, but it should be told in the tutorial or somewhere else.

- i reached lvl 10 (currently cap level) with main character in 9 days. I don't know the cap lvl for full release, nor how many days it will take for a full run, but the progression seems too quick

- breakthrough anymation is unnatural; the head is freezed while the body makes a 360° turn

- like said before, "1 day left problem"

- the radio tower need more days, especially if you get in the same time, quests with just one day that requires you to go to save people at night. I must choose between saving 2 survivors of my camp or complete the radio quest. Note that 100 materials means 20/day, and i got just 20 in woods completing 17 areas

- ti could be nice to improve the camp management: buildings, traps, fences, tower; a map of the camp with people currently on duty with the possibility to assign jobs fron the map. the current method forces you to navigate through all the survivors and skills without having a global eyesight. chosing the right survivor for the right work feels unconfortable

That's what jumps in my mind.

Yeah i find that ranged isnt that great, you can kill off most enemies easily using melee. (as it is)

hi i emailed with a reply and my file email explains a few things.

For the ammo i found that at around day 16-17 i started finding lots more ammo however most if not all my characters were level 10 and i had gone melee since no ammo so the ammo was not really that useful.

I also did the forest mutliple times, final boss twice and a few other run throughs.

I added in engineering at about day 17 just to try it and plan to use it more on my next run through. I only got 1 talent i believe due to everyone being max, the moltov was cool though

The only melee weapon I've had so far is club, so we could do with a slightly bigger selection of those, you know baseball bat, hammer, machete, cleaver, fireaxe, nothing excesive just a slightly wider selection.

i had club, stronger club, baseball bat and nightstick so far. I guess once higher levels are in better gear will be available,too. You could, just for fun, make a new char and put all points in craft so you get it full. Then you will see what is in the game so far.
