Why are people coming here for thoughts on the game? Read the reviews. But if you want MY honest opinon then no it doesn't. . . given you are a fan of the series.

Just got it and played about 2 hours, skipping tutorials/hero mode and going right into the sandbox mode. It's not as bad as people say and infact so far i think it's quite good though if you are not a fan of this game franchise/the lore of ROTK i'm not sure how much you'll enjoy it.

Basicly this.. If you like ROTK setting/characters you will probably enjoy this game fine, if you don't it'll feel less fun.

Personally I've been enjoying it just as much as I might ROTK 11 (which is my personal favorite). It's a little odd at first in how it restrains you, but once you get the right mindset about how to play its done pretty well. I am roughly 12hours into one scenerio + most of the hero mode stages done.

I think a lot of complaints on the game are,
1: price (What KOEI game doesn't have these same people whining about it? Not to defend KOEI really but they are always there)..
2: Its not ROTK 11 and its not really ROTK 10.. Apparently 10 had some features this doesn't that people miss (I didn't play 10 so I can't really say).. and it is very different to ROTK 11.

If your unsure, watch some videos of it, and see if it looks like a game you can get 50$ worth of enjoyment out of.. If you think so, then you can always try it for 2 hours and do a refund if you hate it.

I have never played ROTK but I loved dynasty warriors.

You have to ignore a lot of the poor reviews because a lot of them are upset that the game launched at $90 some months ago... also some fans are upset that the new game doesn't have their favourite feature in INSERT OLDER RTK GAME HERE and they expect every new RTK to have their favourite features. Judge the game based on it's own merits and its a great game!

Reviewers are the ones who suck. The game is awesome. Its not perfect though... there are a few bugs. But nothing game breaking.

It's good. It's not great (the PUK will change this), but it's definitely not bad. At least I can envision myself having a few successive playthroughs as an officer (free and not) and then a ruler before waiting for the PUK.

Here's a thought. Big reviewers consistently award Call of Duty near perfect scores, ENSURING that it is a near perfect game right?

Basically it's like RoTK 10 minus some gameplay detail, but plus better visuals and a story which stays on track.

I think a lot of people are upset because Koei don't release these games very often, and the game doesn't need much to make it the best in the series (but note that it does need something - it's not as good as it could be yet).

I bought it, thinking I might refund it, but kept it. I have enjoyed it thus far, though I really hope Koei release more DLC for it.

Not just bugs. The game could do with more features/content (for example, we really need a "Lonely Legacy of the Dead" 253AD scenario).

But yes, it is a good game. It just needs more work if it is to become best in the series.

I just want them to fix the bugs and balance. I will enjoy playing it though.
The reviews caused me to hold back buying this game for.....1-2 days maybe? But my curiousity got the better of me and I purchased it after all.It is not that bad. The RPG elements similar to RTK 10 to me (I haven't played rtk 8 though) but like what Spartanlemur said, it missed some depth compared to RTK 10.

Overall it is more enjoyable than NA:SOI to me. NA:SOI is just grinding (capture cities --> improve --> build up troops --> capture cities --> rinse & repeat). Soon I become bored of it.

simply put: No its not as bad as people are saying

metacritic is actually going up atm too.

I own and play the game for about 5 hours now, it isn't that bad. It have some good and some bad to it, but nothing exxagerated like some of the reviewer said.
Also, most of those people like to play the big 3, I tend to like playing the lower league and enjoy it.
Same as NA:SOI, I play the hardest guy and win, and you feel you did something :D. This is similar but harder.
