The game doesn't offer much peronal things for you to do tho, your only goal is to advance yourself in rank or just get your character stronger
The Duel system was just rock, paper scissors with rock + version, paper + version and scissors + version put into it.
There was barely anything to do other than the same annoying tavern quests over and over.
The story events happened way to fast in under 6 months Dong Zhuo was dead due to the Lu Bu event and it was ment to take about a year, the game just spammed events one after another and in doing that certain characters would blob and you would have no chance at beating them.
Almost every battle in RotK 10 was a siege and the game was badly stacked in the defenders favour because you have to break down two gates to win the siege and even then the AI would just wait you out because they knew you could never do enough damage to a full defence city in 30 turns.
Then you have the random bandit duel spamming when moving around the map which made life for people not wanting to play high War characters really annoying.
I could go but personally I think RotK 7 and 8 were the best RPG focused ones and 10 was more miss than hit.
RotK 13 is not perfect but it is halfway decent and at least we in the west got another RotK game and they didnt decide to make us lose out again.
That's what I was thinking. People are talking about 10 as if it did the RPG part really well... it didn't. Not even on paper did it expand on VII and VIII, which weren't brilliant to begin with. So to be honest, the bar is pretty low already, I don't think XIII will undershoot my expectations.
tbh seems like they are gonna be delivering DLC to PS4 and PC platforms so I would expect PUK stuff to be DLC eventually.
but ya pretty much what you said.
VIII was one of my favorites as well.
