? Zhuge Liang pretty popular in Chinese. More popular than Liu Bei or his son.

And i recommend you to play "Legend of Cao Cao", old KOEI game.

By romantic I mean romantic as opposed to historically accurate. YES, it is biased to author's opinions, that is the beauty of the book, and hence the endless stream of games.

And in this books and games Liu Bei still stupid in millitary matters and Liu Shan is extremelly stupid in all (with exception of Dynasty Warriors 7, 8) and his name perceived as "idiot who can't achive anything even with great deal of help", and Zhuge Liang with Jiang Wei forced in very bad situations too much because of it. Liu Bei is pretty much one who strive to be a hero, but wasted every single chance to be him (with the exception of Yellow Turban/Scarves Rebellion).

Liu Bei is tutorial character in ROTK XI and this is most rudiculous tutorial dialogues in series.

I do not disagree with you, Xenon. Wu triumphed in the end, right? What I am saying, personally, and I think I can speak for many people, is that Liu Bei and his army were heroes and an inspiration to many, even despite losing. It's romantic man! Surely you can understand romance? :))

"Be vigilant! If an evil is minor, resist it nonetheless. If a good deed is trifling, perform it all the same. Only wisdom and virtue can truly win men's devotion". (c) Liu Bei.

Good words. Too bad he not always followed them. And determined good in evil on very subjective and emothional way.

For me, true hero of era is Cao Cao. And Liu Bei fight him for no reason (because Cao Cao wanted revenge for his father and Liu Bei choise been to defence boss of his killer thinking that Cao Cao is wrong, ironic if you remember his decisions after death of Guan Yu). And then Liu Bei became main reason (well, it's not like Zhuge Liang even wanted to join the war in the first place) why the Three Kingdoms era became so lenghtly and Cao Cao failed to unite China and why so many people been killed. So, his good intention not done country many good.

He is still inspiration to many, I agree.

And with way you worded last two sentences... I think that Japanese games/anime/manga/light novels with gender-bent heroes of era is just stupid blashemy of people who can't even come up with names for their characters.

It's basically no one important. His only role is betrayal of Dong Zhuo.

I tried to play on emulator, but battle system in first two is just bad, equipment system is hell (well, standart hell, like many games of this era) so, i dropped it pretty soon.
I heard that 3-rd part is on enterly another level, but it's not translated so, i can't play confortable enough to enjoy game anyway. It's not action, after all, you need to fully understand dialogues and descriptions or it's just "another RPG" what making reasons to play it void.

Personally... I think I like Cao Cao more.. While Liu Bei maybe is the better person, Cao Cao at lest did useful things, and was able to create a state to carry the next Dynasty.. Where as Liu Bei gennerally was handed good opertunities, and he wasted them..

Both the first and second (is an english patch around for it), as well as a modded version or two so you play as Cao Cao or Sun Jian.. I wish it would get ported to the 3ds/Wii U, so maybe more people would see it..

Also I played and beat the GB version of it.. though it doesn't have an english version and it took me like 3 days to figure out I had to vist Zhuge Liang 3 times.. Cause I didn't know what I was doing or where I was in the story... but I liked the game for what it was anyway..
