If you try to use him in a battle he is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ useless and gets owned. That has never happened in any ROTK game. He was always a beast.
Also, in this game, you can learn all the skill in game so I don't know why you would be complaining about it, not like other ROTK game where the skill are fix and you cannot gain more. You want an OP tactic, go be friend with general like Zhang Yue (other game they call him Zhang He), his tactic is OP.
Topic creator's point is, Zhang Liang is a strategist but unlike all of the TK top strategists, he has a really poor ability pool.
Yes you can make friends to raise those abilities but this is Zhang Liang, he is supposed to be just as OP as Zhuge Liang.
Zhang Liang is the one who intercepted and defeated Fan Zeng's strategy at the Feast of Hong Gate. Fan Zeng gets a 7 in strategy for god knows what reason. Zhang Liang thwarted him, and his strategy ability is 0. Sound fair?
Not convinced? Zhang Liang is the one who masterminded Liu Bang's conquest and settlement of Chu. That alone should get Zhang Liang points in abilities such as Overawe (for keeping the army large enough to subdue the huge region), strategy, or maybe speed, but Zhang Liang doesn't have a single point in any of these abilities.
Edit: BONUS ROUND, Xiang Yu actually DID defeat Han Xin and Han Xin's defeats isolated himself from Liu Bang mentally and physically because Liu Bang did not trust Han Xin. It was only after ZHANG LIANG consoled him and then proceeded to use a combination of MILITARY and diplomatic maneuvers to cut of Xiang Yu that Han Xin was actually able to defeat him at Gai Xia.
Zhang Liang's current set of abilities seem perfect for Xiao He, not himself. Zhang Liang didn't even take care of many domestic matters despite being good at them. It also takes a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of time to learn and max abilities properly and my game is too unstable to get Zhang Liang the abilities he deserves.
THIS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GUY GETS IT. Zhuge Liang, Xun Yu, every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ strategist in the game was compared as equal to Zhang Liang, the guy who formed the Han Dynasty while Liu Bang ♥♥♥♥♥♥ prostitutes, got wasted, and killed his subordinates. Yet they are all EXTREMELY superior in abilities to the very guy they are being compared. Zhang Liang has similar abilities to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Chen Qun. Do you know what Chen Qun ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ did? He colonized some areas in the north. THATS IT. Zhang Liang FORGED A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DYNASTY, yet his abilitites barely compare to his peers and compare more favorably to some scrub who colonized a few towns in the mountains.
