bit toward the north to by sometime to breath. I was playing Liu Bei himself I marched to Runan as my first target to control the battle using Zhao Yun, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei wisely I was able to capture and defeat some of Cao Cao’s lesser generals in duels and then I would use pincer attacks to get that bonus damage after the reinforcements slowed down I took Wan castle next, as luck would have Sun Quan started to march on Cao Cao so his forces were divided I got an alliance with Ma Teng/Chao and Sun Quan so I would have my back safe.
I wish I could remember what I did after Cao Cao was pushed toward Ye but it has been a while and not sure if I can get lucky with Sun Quan attacking when he did again as he normally goes after the Shi clan.
That’s a great playthrough sounds like. I’m going to try a more aggressive strategy and try to force Cao Cao into a ceasefire at least, so I can take southern Jing and Yi.
The battle of Chibi doesn’t seem to give you any breathing time at all. Cao Cao’s actual troop numbers don’t seem to decline at all. Like the battle didn’t happen outside of cut scenes, and the game giving you Jiangling.
Once Jing is yours try to keep an alliance with Sun Quan to go after Yi at this point hope that Cao Cao is too busy fighting Ma Teng or Ma Chao if expansion event happened, if you’re lucky, Sun Quan will also either defeat the Shi or focus on Cao Cao.
The Ma Chao event is over extremely quickly, and Cao Cao immediately swoops down with 100,000+ troops. The only solution I can think of is to create a super army of 20,000 and cut down the horde, while having Zhao Yun lead the other 20,000 from Jiang Ling south to take Jin Xuan.
Thanks for your reply. I’ll focus on what you suggested.
I took Wan at the very beginning, after a huge battle. I managed to win a ceasefire with Cao Cao, and turned south and took Liu Biao’s land the Zhao Fan’s. I had all of Jingzhou, and allied to Sun Quan. Sun Quan took down Shi Xie, and then Liu Zhang. Ma Teng sheepishly surrendered to Cao Cao, which would cause problems.
I felt fairly secure. I had a big ally, and a big enough force to have plenty of supplies and gold. When the ceasefire ended, I marched on Xu Chang, and took it after a huge battle. Cao Cao then counterattacked, and I defended Xu Chang against 250,000+ troops for a six month struggle.
After tying up most of Cao Cao’s solid troops, and almost all of his solid commanders, I wanted to see how many cities Sun Quan took, since I made it easier for him.
Not only had Sun Quan not taken any cities, but Cao Cao had taken Jian Ye, Wu, and Zi Tong. The geographical advantaged Wu had were gone. Sun Quan managed to lose at every front, despite my efforts. Cao Cao attacked Xu Chang again, and while I beat back the first two waves, Cao Cao took Lu Jiang and Cheng Du. I decided my chances were not good enough.
I’m going to replay the 190 scenario as Liu Bei, just to feel the overpowered strength again. After that, I’m going to switch to medium difficulty, and try the three visits again, with the events on, this time.
Maybe then Sun Quan will not be totally incompetent.
I spend the pre-Chibi period doing investigations just to break even. Maybe Cao Cao can be harmed the same way.
My big issue now is whether to go for Xiangyang first, or sourhern Jing.
Still, taking down Cao Cao in that scenario is brutal, even with Liu Bei’s super-powered retainers.
Thanks for your help, guys.
The key is taking southern Jing, then Liu Biao, and Liu Zhang’s territories ASAP.
Also, it’s good to avoid fighting east of Chang An, and West of Runan. Trying to attack up the middle, or through Hong Nong and Luoyang, is too tedious and difficult. It’s best to try and tie those troops down with some of your own, by taking a defensive position at Chang An and Wan. You can take Wan very early, but it’s not a good idea to press further.
Cao Cao had conquered Sun Quan, so I first drove him from Yang, then took Liang and Chang An, the struck at Runan, Xiaopei, Xia Pi, and Langye. Worked much better than trying to go through Hong Nong, or straight from Wan to Xu Chang.
take Runan fast as you can and go through to Shouchun xiapi langye beihai
complete event and get zhuge liang take all officer money supplies to beihai establish there
recover your troops and go take northern china
execute every useless officer or loyal to cao cao too much this will weaken cao cao a lot
abandon south bcz it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid to remain surround by 4 side
Finnish cao cao and ma teng
Leave Liu zhang alone bcz he is super weak you can deal with him in late game
after secure han zhong and shouchun as your border go jiang take every city and finish WU
anahilate Cheng du and end the game
Would you happen to have any experience with the 208 scenario, where you are in Jiang Xia, right before Chibi?
Great. Thanks a lot. Going to give it s go again as soon as I finish my Sun Jian Campaign.
