Don't think so. Past games doesn't have a dating system, but this has it. Just go befriend any single lady and once it hits 80, you can trigger the friendship event and your guy will ask for marriage instead.

If fame is enough, she will accept.

There are randomly generated wives. A friendly officer introduced me to their "adopted daughter" for marriage. Since the daughter had a generic portrait and apparently generated bio (it mentions the marriage to my custom officer), it seems to me that she's randomly generated.

yes .. and only generated wives can give you children ... if you talk more with her after the marriage .. you will have the "conversation"

I think wifes you make in the cc can also give the "talk".

All wifes, historical or not, can give you 2 children.
I actually had 6 children in one playthrough.

And can your children have children when you die and they take over?

I think they can, but it already take ages to get to the second generation and the game is always almost over by the time they grow up (you actually have to drag it on just to reach that point).

Maybe we can be the dominating warlord, just keep 1 faction alive in the corner of the map with 1 tiny city, while we reproduce 6 generations.

Play on low expansion and low troop recovery while you play as merchant.
That way you can probably drag the game from yellow turban up until Sima Yan dying of old age.
