Its mostly used to hold down an enemy, but if you manage to break down the defense gauge on the bosses, pop this and watch the parts inevitably break one by one. The +CHain can be swapped out since I use that to combo cancel Warp out of melee if the boss tries something big. Since 3 Spc combo also gives you an increase in movement speed, it does give you that edge when running away from things.
I'm not sure how to classify tis though. A highly mobile support? Anyways, you want to use a Paradox right off the bat since it takes a long time to charge. It should take down a significant chunk of the defense gauge.
I've been relying on a DEF set to get through the later phases.
Been using:
Hijikata Toshizou (DEF)
* DEF Master (Valiant) ~ increases max Defense Gauge - stacks and seems to help Shield
* Protection Lv 3
* DEF Master (Augment) ~ I think this refills the Defense Gauge faster
Ou no Yarumaro (DEF)
* Tranquility ~ largest Defense boost at the cost of movement speed
* Protection (Lv. 3)
* Shield+ (Valiant) ~ more Defense Gauge during Shield
Tokugawa Ieyasu (DEF)
* Taunt+ (Sturdy) ~ more defense during taunt
* Taunt+ (Amity) ~ restores health during taunt
* DEF Master (Valiant)
Been using this to push past phases without upgrading as often as I should and in the absence of a healerr. Think it may work better with gauntlets, but I've been using a spear and bow more often for phase progression. I'm not sure how much Lure I need to maintain threat on a boss. I think if I replaced my armor.
Curious about: Taunt+ (Damage), Shield+ (Link) and using Shield+ (Range).
e.g. how much of a damage boost does Taunt+ (Damage) get from the extra DEF Master (Valiant) and Shield+ (Valiant)? Does Shield+ (Link) benefit from Taunt+ (Sturdy) and Taunt+ (Amity)? And does Shield+ (Range) give allies the full shield of DEFMaster (Valiant) and Shield+ (Valiant)? I wonder these things.
No specific Mitama sets yet, as I just finished Chapter 5. I assume I'll need Mitama sets at later chapters/phases.
Range abilities give about half the effect so giving someone the shield is about the same as your default shield gauge (no idea if the Valiants or other abilities will work)
As for Links abilities yes you do get the buffs so you get double stocks of Taunt+ Amity and Taunt+Damage, which does great damage even better when having Taunt+Protect or DEF Master Protect (Ieyasu has Taunt Protect as his ULT)
My personal LCK builds: I use Divine Fox or similiar hi precision weapons such as Strategist Knives or the Great Tenta Sword, giving me aprrox a 75% critical rate. (except Rifle since i hate their bullets instead i use the Pteros Greatcannon which has approx a 62% crit rate from the build)
If i had to describe my build i guess its like a paladin, strong attack, an insane amount of survivability and can support (revival for skills or if i get a support skill from ranadom)

2ndary: Yagyu Munenori (ATK) With getting back recoveries frequently (LCKs specialty) and him having Recovery+Amplify&Bonus i can often spend a recovery for a free bar of focus. So long as i don't overdo it i almost never need a prayer stone or HLG

I feel my Rifle damage is a bit low so i've been thinking about swapping Munenori with Saika Magochi so i can have recovery+amplify and Mitama pulse but i'll lose out on a good chunk of critical rate (about 12%)

And some unique ones (whose effects are probably written somewhere on the web, but...) The only one that stood out and punched me in the face was: Oda Nobunaga + Tokugawa Ieyasu + Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
I suspect slipping Oichi or Maeda Toshiie in there with Oda or Toyotomi will have a pairing.
Probably Minamoto Yoshitsune + Benkei will have a result.
Still playing around with the features to see which ones I like.

- Protection of Heroes (skill use sometimes doesn't use up a stock)
I also have Minamoto Yos.hitsune (seriously, Valve? Can I say basement?) permanently at Lv.1 in the Pool of Purity for a sure way of having him give me Master Destroyer (weapon gauge starts half full) for a quicker body part chop. :3

Looking at it, I probably stick to Leech and Absorb effects too much...
It's usable with any weapon type, and should enable you to keep up your affliction most of the time.

Do it. Making it into Ult for any mitama gives you te ability to switch their skills at will.
