[FIXED] BUG: Analog controls aren't full 360 degrees
Hi Everyone,

I'm using an XBOX 360 controller and when I move with the left analog stick it seems I don't have a full 360 degrees of motion. If I am moving to the left or right and approach up or down the motion is not smooth -- it will jerk/snap to running up or down suddenly instead of a smooth curve. Is everyone else having this problem or just me? If you aren't having it, what controller are you using?

Hopefully I am describing the problem accurately so everyone understands what I mean. I have played the Vita versions of this game and it doesn't have this issue.

To the devs: if you could fix this bug, it would be awesome. It ruins the otherwise smooth animations. Thanks in advance!

EDIT: This bug has been fixed. Thanks devs!

Bump. Anyone else have this problem?

Has no one else used controllers for this game and can comment? Or is everyone complaining about the port on here :(

I don't know what are you talking about, but I don't have any issues with my xbox 360 controller.

I don't have that issue with my ps4 controller on ds4 or my regular 360 controller on plugin... Maybe it's that the software only detects your joystick as 4 directional rather than 8 directional so you may need something like motionjoy to correct it or something.

It is like it is only 8 directions instead of a full 360 degrees. Walk to the left and slowly turn your left analog stick so you turn to face down and you will see what I mean. At one point instead of a smooth rotation of your character it will change suddenly from diagonal to straight down. That is unless the bug doesn't affect you.

I just tried with a PS3 controller and the bug is still there. I unfortunately don't have a PS4 controller to test with...

Recalibrate your controller. it almost sounds like your deadzone is broke. pinnacle is only way to fix that or buy a new controller. To answer your question no it works perfect for me and has 360 degrees. Sometimes if the stick is held when powered on it go's out of whack.

unplug any unused accesories in your usb's maybe?

Thanks for the reply Jason. So when you turn your character slowly the motion is smooth across all 360 degrees?

I have 5 xbox controllers and the problem is universal and consistent. Other games don't have this problem so it is strange if it is only affecting me.

I tried the method by going up a wall and slowly going from left to down.
I did notice it snaps twice. like 0-45-90 degrees or as you say, 8 directions.

Is that what you meant?

I think that's just the way the game's walking works.

Kyle, I would try uninstalling any programs like x-padder and stuff like that, and reinstalling microsoft's driver for the controller if you need to. (Assuming you are on windows 7 or below, as they require a driver to be installed). This game supports the 360 controller natively, and any software getting between it and the input could cause problems.

Adeshark: that is exactly what I was talking about. That isn't just how the game's walking is as I have it on Vita and it is smooth on that. So it must be a global bug and everyone else is just not noticing it..

I am running the game on Windows 7. For the the people that have a full 360 degrees motion when turning, are you running an OS other than Windows 7 and/or using a PS4 controller? I am wondering if there is a workaround...
Otsana Jun 27, 2015 @ 1:12pm
Well I'll be damned if it's supposed to be smooth. I guess it's another faulty stuff from the port.
Though I have to admit, I never noticed it until you mentioned it. It's really subtle.
Kyle Jun 29, 2015 @ 8:21am
I didn't notice it at first but it technically even affects gameplay as you are forced in moving 8 directions instead of a full 360 degrees. I did message this bug to Koei Tecmo America's Facebook account so hopefully they will take notice and fix it just like they did with the chest bug.
