Controls keep messing themselves up. Why?

I was playing this game on my PC and decided to change the settings on the steering and controls. However, every time I do so, it will either put the acceleration and brake buttons as the same button or the left and right steering as the same button. Why is it doing this, and how can I fix it? I really wanna play this game, dudes and dudettes...

copy these settings into the input tab on the boot loader.

Turn right (Digital) (+) = d
Turn right (Digital) (-) = a
Turn left (Digital) (+) = d
Turn left (Digital) (-) = a
Accelerate (Digital) = w
Brake (Digital) = s
Drift (Digital) = space
Shoot Forward (Digital) = up [arrow key]
Shoot Backward (Digital) = down [arrow key]

Same issue here. For me it worked to swap the accelerate and brake buttons in the configuration window. I realized that some secondary fields were mapped although I haven't configured them. I just set them to 1, 2, 3, ... on the keyboard to make sure these configs wouldn't clash with the joystick configs. Now everything besides the reset button (which I tried to map to the select button on the Xbox 360 controller) works.

Impossible for me to copy anithing in the configuration tool... and i have the same problem : ingame, it is impossible to turn right or left and my kart accelerate without me.

i have deleteted all my game files and reuploaded them... and my modifications in the configuration tools are still here...

and impossible to reboot the configuration control... possible to take the original config.file ?

I find it constantly breaks controls, the devs don't care about this game at all so it's up to the community to fix this game through mods, harassment, and/or completely rebuilding the game. This was ported terribly and it's upsetting that even professional Garfield Kart players can't get anything done to improve the game they spend so much time on.
