Garfield Kart Windows Shutdown glitch.

So apparently this game has a glitch where if you use a controller, (I was using an Xbox 360 Controller) and hit any button on the controller, (in my case the A button or any of the triggers) it sends a command to your pc to shut down. If u have the game try this and tell me if anything else triggers that glitch.

Note: I am not the developer of this game. Just curious.

This keeps happening to me with an Xbox one controller with the official bluetooth USB. I thought my 1080ti was getting killed by Garfield Kart Racing. What is this madness I own so many games and have never seen such an issue.

My xbox one controller seems to work fine, I know of some runners who use controllers without issue also. What bindings have you set?

I would Like to know an answer to this as well, My son wanted to play this, and I can't for the life of me get it to work, the comp just shuts down. I'm using an xbox one controller, default settings.

same thing xbox one controller , push any button and it shuts the computer down . this has never happend on any other game . we all need a fix .

change the settings of it maybe? Like change the controls? It works just fine for me and I'm using an xbox one controller

I could link you to GKML, its a community run version of the game on a newer version of unity, supports mods also. Only issue is that you will be unable to speedrun using it, so if thats something you want then all I can suggest is verifying integrity of game files and trying out the beta and non beta branches of the game.

I tried all the settings , it will only work with the mouse and keyboard. I am out in my semi truck now , but when I make it to the house I am going to try a PS4 controller.
I stream on twitch and I was going to run this game but on my pretest run yeah that idea was gone . Thanks for the responses !!

This game forced my PC shut down 4 consecutive times. I purchased this for my 4 year old daughter to play and it would be so much easier for her if it worked with the Xbox controller, I tried changing the settings but I'm still getting the same problem, It forces the computer to shutdown every time the game is launched on big picture mode with the controller connected after pressing any button. Just remove claims of partial controller support on the store page if there are no plans to fix this glitch.

I just reinstalled this game after some time... I also cannot play... it just restarts... I am using xbox one controller as well..

Try right clicking, going to properties and on the betas tab opt into multiplayer beta

Go to Big Picture mode on Steam, and check the controller configuration. Some Nermal out there decided to bind all the buttons to shut off the computer, and people upvoted it to the top. Top controller layout becomes default for everyone if the devs don't set one.

Wow. This entire debacle was caused by a single user? I'm speechless.

It really is embarrassing, honestly. Best thing we can do is to all upvote the second one after it, and play with it to boost the playtime past the top one. Once we do that, we should be able to snowball past the troll one. I can't find a way to report controller configs, and I'm not sure the devs could do anything about it sadly.

edit: actually the devs could add a default config made for the game which would be default, but i don't know how to contact them directly to ask them to do that.
