RPG Maker 2003

Japanese translations?
I've been dabbling with RPG Maker 2003 and I'm wondering if I can use the Steam (or standalone RMWeb) versions of it to translate games I make into Japanese. I've been trying to make a game that's not very text heavy and does not make use of the character naming screen, so there's no concerns about translating anything but menu options and a very small amount of message boxes. There might be a way for me to do this by making all in-game text image-based, but I'd really rather not unless I have absolutely no other choice...

So... is this possible?

Steam version of Rm2k3 is strictly English version. Rm2k3 was made before unicode era (from what I remember) and so, it's impossible to multi-language with the engine.

That's unfortunate... Looks like I'll have to make image-based text in my game, then.
