RPG Maker 2003

uploading sprites
Ive tried everything to upload sprites to rpgmaker 2003. It keeps saying file size too big. Ive tried copying and pasting in paint.net and ms paint, and nothing is working. Anyone know how to do this.

You need to ensure the file has the exact size dimensions that rpg maker can load.
It depends on what type of resource you are trying to import.

When you save any kind of sprite make sure you save them as 8-bit. RPG2k3 won't read anything else. Also depending on the type of of sprites you're trying to import, they'll have different dimensions. I'm gonna share the dimension sizes you'll need here for reference, as well as the sprite sizes inside of said images.

[Battle]: Sheet Size: 480 x 480, Sprite Size: 96 x 96
[BattleCharSet]: Sheet Size: 144 x 384, Sprite Size: 48 x 48
[BattleWeapon]: Sheet Size: 192 x 512, Sprite Size: 64 x 64
[CharSet]: Sheet Size: 288 x 256, Sprite Size:24 x 32
[ChipSet]: Sheet Size: 480 x 256, Sprite Size: 16 x 16, (Auto Tile graphics are 8 x 8).
[FaceSet]: Sheet Size: 192 x 192, Sprite Size: 48 x 48

As for Monsters, and Battle2; I am unsure of their dimensional limitations. Backdrops, Parallax Backgrounds, & Game Over screens should all be 320 x 240 in dimension.
