Real or not (Spoilers)

In this topic I'd like to hear what everyone thinks wether or not the more fantastic things Fran encounters are real or just a hallucination.

Acquiring items in the Ultrareality would be a big hint towards everything being real. One might argue that she may just overlook those items in the normal world but how about most of what happens in the twins house? The plank she finds could not be acquired from inside the well, as it couldn't be missed in there floating up. Then there is the fact that Dr. Dreen confirms the story about the twins being sewn together, something Fran couldn't have possibly learned prior.


Arguing against the fact of all of it being real would be the Diotine itself. The stranger things in the game only happen under the influence of the drug or after the asylum. Even when using the Diotine sparingly, Fran has taken considerable amounts of it and by the time she reaches the end, where the strange happenings take their peak, it is stated that she took an entire bottle of it.

Well id say theres definitely a certain amount of truth in the paranormal for this game. The biggest evidence for me includes: fran sees the past of dr deern and his father and dr deern confirms that. Then after fran gives dr deern the shot of duotine, he sees the same things that fran sees. If it wasnt paranormal they wouldnt see the same things. You could chalk all of that up to hallucinations if you really wanted to and say that fran is even hallucinating her conversations with dr deern, but i think its reasonable to say the story supports the paranormal being real.

And what about the cat? He shows up and can talk. Later on he's dead in the grave. Then he shows up again, meowing unable to talk.. Me thinks delusions
