Is this game similar to Alice: Madness Returns?
Looks kinda like it from the screenshots. I just started Alice and I'm loving. Not quiite horror, but just the right kinda kreepy.

I am in the chapter 2 and it is definitely more creepy than horror story.

I am unable to make a comparison between this and Alice: Madness Returns but I have played American McGee's Alice and there are similarities in the tone (unsettling implications, a weird cute-creepy scenery). Fran feels creepier, though.

Creepier than Alice, huh?

I just finished Fran Bow and I feel like it´s pretty similar! The story really reminded me of Alice in many points and it´s almost the same kind of horror. If you like Alice, I´m pretty sure that you´ll love Fran too!

Cool. Thank you. I'm loving Alice. Can't get Cheshire's devious grin out my head. Thanks again for the info dude :)

No problem! :) Have fun!

Well it's a whole different genre. :P Fran Bow doesn't do much killing, I'm guessing. But it could be samey to an alice story.

Well its a point & click which is the main difference, but there is a few similarity. As someone who liked A:MR quite a lot, I can say that you would probably enjoy it.

anyone help!
every time i play this game, i need to restart the whole thing...
why this "Auto save" is not working on ma computer?
I am currently using Window xp..
it'z really good to review and get sth new that I didn't know at the first try,
but you know, this is not a short story.
restarting is like wasting of ma time...
or are there any ways to back up ma play history?

oh I forgot to say this...
I fell in love with this game sooooo much:)

they made a hint of fran and alice being childhood friends at one part of the game. Pretty subtle :P

Khjiau, I haven't bought or played Fran yet, can't help you. Pennydox, that's cool. Have to check that out. My back catalogue is so overloaded from Steam sales this past year. Anything that looks cool in the $2.49--$4.99 range that's usually $30.00 I buy because reasons. Do it again when the Halloween and Autumn sales come about. Hope this game goes on for super cheap, but I really gotta clear at least one game. I have so many know I don't know what to play half the time. Dammit! :)

YES. It is so like Alice, Madness Returns and the classic, I was seeing similarities all the way through, there's no way it's all a coincidence; it must have been some inspiration for the story.
I'm just going to list all the ones I spotted if anyone's interested... but spoilers, obviously.

It starts almost the exact same way, the girl waking up after having an insane dream/attempt to recover a memory. Dr leern (was that his name?) is even similar in looks to Dr Bumby in Alice.
Both girls' parents died tragically, both went 'insane' afterwords and both were partly suspected for the accident.
Both girls have black cats that they are close to.
Both are friends with a guy wearing a tall top hat.
There are two weird twins in both games. (The two girls & tweedle dee/tweedle dum)
Both of the girls are on a mission to discover the truth.
In Fran Bow, on that last chapter, she goes into the queen of darkness (can't remember her name) and the walls are almost lined with her red flesh. This is similiar to when Alice goes into the red queen and the walls look like this there too.
In this section of the game, Fran wakes up the queen and her heart breaks into glass so Fran can go down the ladders, in Alice you have to shoot the queens hearts with a gun to get them to break.
In chapter five, when you get into the room with the eyeball, there are random giant snail shells on the floor, this is similiar to Alice, where you have to break giant snail shells throughout the game to collect stuff from them.
The room with all the doors is similiar to the classic Alice, even down to finding the key on the table.
And of course, the Picture in Fran's wardrobe near the end of the game of her with Alice 'a girl from school'. Who's wearing the classic Alice outfit and even has her own Cheshire cat.
[spoiler/]

I LOVE Alice Madness Returns and the classic Alice novels, I adore them to death and this game was no different. It reminded me of my favourite's, but was still unique and absolutely awesome.
I kinda turned that into a rant/review, but whatever XP
I'd love to know if anyone else spotted some more similarites.

Alice wasn't really meant to be creepy.

Alice: Madness Returns, are we talking about the hack'n'slash game here? If so, no definetely not.
