Can't Get Past Guard (Bug?)

I don't get it, I'm doing exactly what I'm suppose to do in Chapter 1, SPOILERS: I drugged the cinnamon bun and every time I try to use it on the guard Fran just won't do it! I get no dialogue choices, she just says it can't be done over and over, the nurse that's suppose to give me the alternative coffee option is nowhere to be seen and IM STUCK!!!! I'm so confused and frankly upset, I really don't understand what this weirdly specific problem I'm having is but I've reloaded and retied multiple options and I keep getting stuck here and it sucks.

My guess is that if you are playing the default (new) version of the game, you probably haven't tried to simply talk with the guard and/or haven't created the Grab-O-Matic 2000 and tried to get the key hanging near the guard yet. Once you do those two things, you'll have better luck using the drugged cinnamon bun. If you haven't done those things, then you haven't yet done exactly what is required.

After reviewing that post, please post again if you are still having trouble.
