Hello,
If the Let's Play above didn't give you the hints you need, try these:
There's a couple of items already in your inventory that you need to open that "invisible" door that Little Fran and Nurse Gladys went thru earlier.
Did you read Palontra's Riddle that Little Fran gave you after she unlocked your chains using your Key Collection?
Do you have "a little golden box" in your inventory?
Have you examined Palontra's box in your inventory?
There is an ear on the left side, and eye in the middle, and another ear on the right side. Ring any bells?
Clicking on those items in the right order (based on Palontra's riddle) ought to get you something?
Click twice on the left ear, once on the right ear, then twice on the eye, once on the left ear, and once on the eye to open Palontra's box. What did you find?
Have you examined the Mr. Midnight doll?
Using the right key might open the door for you.
The use for the key you found in the doll house may become evident once you get out of Fran's bedroom.

You may have already solved the puzzles in rooms 102 and 103, and may not actually be asking for help, but I'll mention one thing that may help if you haven't yet.
It's hard to say from your post how far you have gotten in solving the puzzles in those rooms, but if you haven't yet found and used the balloons, you may have not yet visited a room in this part of the game. You must visit this room and solve the puzzle there in order to finish the last puzzle in room 102.
There are two exits from room 101 (the room where Fran was initially chained to the bed). I know you found the one that leads to the other numbered rooms. But there is another which takes you outside the house. If you haven't visited that room yet, you'll need to do so to proceed to the end of the room 102 puzzles.
The second exit in room 101 is somewhat obvious. At least if you're a young girl with plenty of youthful energy.
There's still lots of puzzle solving to accomplish in this part of the game, but I hope this helps you or any gamer who might be having trouble solving the last puzzle in room 102.
Hi, I'm not sure if you're still checking this thread to answer questions, but I'm stuck in the same place, with a small difference. I have gathered everything from the room (like the balloons, key, etc.), but I cannot open the box as the riddle isn't in my inventory, and I do not remember young Fran giving it to me. What am I missing or is it a bug of some kind? Thank you.
Edit: 12/30/2020--This discussion was finalized off the forum. It turns out there was a bug in the gameplay at this point, which is being investigated. In the meantime, this gamer was provided with a save game file that allowed gameplay to progress as if the bug didn't happen.

I'm sorry that you're having trouble getting out of the first room in Chapter 5.
Since you didn't say what IS in Fran's purse for you to work with, I can't tell if there is something missing or not. But I have not been able to replicate any issue in this section of the game.

You will likely have more items than are shown here since you indicated that you took the items from the closet (and I haven't yet), but one of these items is something that was given to you by young Fran.. If you have at least all of these items, then you may wish to EXAMINE each of them to see if they give you a clue about what to do to proceed.
If you're missing any of these items, then it would be helpful to see your save game file so that I can try to figure out what has gone wrong. My first guess though, is that you're just overlooking something with the inventory that you DO have. But if you're missing one or more of the inventory items shown in my screenshot, then you can follow the guidance in this post: https://steamcommunity.com/app/362680/discussions/0/527273452876017197/?ctp=24#c2566438613257563868 to upload your save game file to the cloud. Then please reply to this message with the link to that file. I'll take a look at your file and, if necessary, fix it and give you a new link to the fixed file.
By the way, if you read all the spoilers in my prior message, the solution is there even if you don't have Palontras' riddle if you do have Palontras' box.
I would appreciate a reply post to this message either letting me know that you've successfully completed this puzzle, or that you are still having an issue which I can help you fix (along with a link to your savegame file). You could also just begin Ch 5 gameplay again by using the Chapters Menu and selecting Chapter 5 since you haven't gotten very far along in Chapter 5 yet. But if the game is operating "normally", you should NOT have to do this. Please double-check your inventory items and let me know.
