Game Save is Gone?
Every time I hit continue on the main screen, it brings up the KillMonday screen for a split second and then takes me right back to the main menu. I verified the integrity of the files but I don't know what else to do. I can follow detailed instructions of anybody has any.

I was at the start of the vegetable area(?) with the tree guy and the flying salamander, I think that's barely into chapter 3?

Hello hojo,

I'm sorry that you lost your save game file for the Fran Bow game.

Based on your description of where you were in the game, I have prepared a save game file which you can copy from this link on the cloud: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1VgSze3XGJNVCIFhDjZeAhl8rppSTzsBy to this location on your computer:

If you're playing on a Windows computer:
c:\users\<Your Windows Login Name>\Appdata\Roaming\Fran_Bow\savedata.ini
(Please see this link if you cannot find the "\Appdata\" folder or see the file extension (".ini") on the "savedata.ini" file: http://kb.winzip.com/kb/entry/26/. This link explains how to unhide hidden folders and show file extensions for known file types on Windows computers.)

If you're playing on a MAC computer:
~/Library/Application Support/com.yoyogames.macyoyorunner/savedata.ini

If you're playing on a Linux computer:
~/.config/Fran_Bow/savedata.ini

You'll need to overwrite the file "savedata.ini" already there with this one you download from the link above.

Then start up the Fran Bow game, and select the "Continue" menu pick from the Main menu that appears when you start up the game. This will take you to the location where Palontras (the flying salamander) talks to you, then picks you up for healing. This is approximately where you described yourself to be when you last played the game.

If you would rather begin at the beginning of Chapter 3 of the game again, select the "Chapters" menu pick from the game's "Main" menu and then select Chapter 3 to begin gameplay at the beginning of that chapter.

This solves your immediate issue of being able to resume gameplay in Fran Bow approximately where you left off. I cannot say for certain if the loss of your save game file was caused by a glitch in the game, or something else. Just FYI, some Windows gamers use "file cleaner" programs which automatically remove files that the program thinks are not necessary for Windows operation at periodic intervals. If you're using such a program, you may wish to look at its settings to ensure that it does NOT delete files in your Fran Bow save game folder. Otherwise, you may find yourself having the same issue in the future. This may not be the reason for the loss of your save game file, just something to consider as a possible cause.

I hope you enjoy playing the rest of the Fran Bow game, hojo.

Hi Space Viking,

Do you need a save game file too? If yes, where are you in the game (so I can build a save for you)?

Or did you resolve the issue some other way?

Thanks.

Thanks for responding, Brian!

I'm not very far into the game so I just restarted it. The new saved game seems to be working just fine. No worries!

Love the game!

Hello snowlike,

Sorry you lost your save game file. I've build one for you that will put you back into the game at approximately where you said you left off Talking with King Ziar and the Great Wizard, and about to leave Ithersta for the human world.

The file has been uploaded to my Google drive and the link is here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1JgbTyrAbUkPx78HQj1ZCliUNfFj1JGmI.

Please copy this file (named "savedata.ini") to your computer. Then you'll need to copy it to the location on your computer that the Fran Bow game uses to find the save game data. On Windows computers, that location is here:

c:\users\<Your Windows Login Name>\Appdata\Roaming\Fran_Bow\savedata.ini

Please overwrite any "savedata.ini" you find in that location already with the file you downloaded from the Google Drive link above.

If you cannot find the "\Appdata\ folder or if you don't see the ".ini" extension on the "savedata.ini" file, then your folder/file viewing options are set to the defaults and you may wish to change them using this guide: http://kb.winzip.com/kb/entry/26/.

Once you've copied the "savedata.ini" file to the correct location where the game can find it, then please start up the game. At the game's Main menu, please select the "Continue" option to resume gameplay approximately where you left off.

Please post again if you have any questions, snowlike. I hope you enjoy playing the rest of the Fran Bow game.

Hi snowlike,

You're welcome! I'm glad the save game file worked for you and that you were able to resume your gameplay about where you left off when your save game file was lost.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the Fran Bow game, snowlike.

Hello Yunami,

Here's a link to a save game file which you can use to resume gameplay at the beginning of Chapter 2, Part II which is where you wanted to resume the game: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Y4AEVVkBsCvt0iQStdFWhD-7vAJP6YzY

You'll need to copy this file to the save game location for the Fran Bow game which is here (on Windows computers):

c:\users\<Your Windows Login Name>\Appdata\Roaming\Fran_Bow\

and overwrite the file with the same name already there.

Then start up the Fran Bow game and select the "Continue" menu pick to resume gameplay in the Twin's house.

Please post again if you have any trouble using this save game file.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the Fran Bow game, Yunami.

The game crashed in start of chapter 5, required reinstall and deleted the game save file. Can I have one with chapter four completed ? I can check Windows logs if something can be found there.

Hello sawe_fi,

Here's a save game file for the game that will take you to the beginning of Chapter 5: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Ox9lN95TSitS584j4a7Kl_RytDMkgnx6.

The file is called "savedata.ini" and (on Windows computers), it should be copied to this location:

c:\users\<Your Windows Login Name>\Appdata\Roaming\Fran_Bow\

and overwrite any file already there called "savedata.ini".

(If you cannot find the "\Appdata\" folder or see the .ini. file extension on the "savedata.ini" file, you may wish to show hidden folders and/or show file extensions for known file types using these instructions: http://kb.winzip.com/kb/entry/26/).

Once you've copied the "savedata.ini" file to your computer, please start up the Fran Bow game using the Steam Client Software. At the Fran Bow game's menu that comes up when you first start up the game, select the "Continue" menu pick. You can also select the Chapters menu and then select Chapter 5 to resume gameplay at the beginning of Chapter 5 as you requested.

Feel free to reply to this message if you have any questions. I hope you enjoy playing the rest of the Fran Bow game.

Hello cinnamoroll:

Here's a save game file which will take you just outside the Great Wizard's home in Chapter 3: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DSeQINNJpS5M7uwgVds88AaQAP88ND5J.

You can refer to this earlier post in this thread for details about where to copy the file: https://steamcommunity.com/app/362680/discussions/0/1750106661722700298/#c1743394125907428373. Please be sure to use the "Continue" menu pick off the game's "Main" menu to resume your gameplay. You could also just use the Chapters menu and select Chapter 3. This will resume your gameplay at the beginning of that Chapter again. Using the "Chapters" menu WILL overwrite the progress made in the save game file you just downloaded and copied to your computer, so be sure you want to replay the chapter you were in from the beginning if you do use that menu.

Using the "Continue" menu pick should take you back to approximately where you left off in your earlier gameplay based on your description. Post again if you have any questions.

I hope this file helps, and that you enjoy the rest of the Fran Bow game.
