Exanima
Q: Do I get Sui Generis for free if I buy Exanima?
A: Unfortunately, no. Both Exanima and Sui Generis will be standalone and complete games.

Definitely. They deserve the money.
Yay! Someone read the FAQ :). *two thumbs up*
I'll use the negative energy thats in this thread to ask something I couldn't find the answer for.
Will exanima get other levels than dungeon crawler ones or at least different looking dungeons that give some sort of change?
What are the plans of content in Exanima? Is the current content of Exanima near completion(hence the beta tag)?
The devs are investigating how to give a discount for SG if you own exanima, but it seems it is not an easy task in steam.

Well, the lvl 4 is pretty different, have you been there? i am not sure if there will be more drastic visual changes in future levels.

There are currently 4 lvls out of 14. The arena is a bit more complete, but it is still lacking features too.

There will be 14 levels in the dungeon. After level four progression becomes less linear (you can go multiple ways) and what happens will vary depending on circumstances. The devs don't want to spoil what's next so they haven't given too many details about what the upcoming levels will look like.

The new arena mode in Exanima will also be expanded upon quite a bit with more facilities, helpful NPC's, new match types (team vs. ogre battles), new outdoor arenas, low latency multi-player (also will be added to the dungeon mode).

As far as features that are upcoming:
  • thaumaturgy (magic)
  • procedurally generated weapons
  • dialogue
  • low latency multi-player (both co-op and PvP)
  • revamped inventory system
  • new creature types/encounters
  • more NPC interactions (being able to befriend NPC's, etc.)
  • 10 additional levels that will be released in chunks instead of one-at-a-time

Why not? Last time I checked Sui Generis was in Greenlight(so I'm guessing it will also come to the Steam shop) and I've seen it done before with other games that you get a discount if you own something else. Of course they can't give a discount if SG doesn't exist in the shop yet.

I honestly have no idea of how it works, that's just what i heard.

Fair enough, was just curious.
So let me get this straight. Even though I backed a game called Sui Generis before there was even a combat prototype, I'm still only going to get the combat prototype, Exanima?

According to the Bare Metal Entertainment web site, I was pre purchasing Sui Generis. This was years before it was even on steam. There was no mention of anything other than an open world rpg.

That's good to hear. I've seen other games go back on their original promises far too often since the advent of kickstarter.

Yes, it is a sad trend unfortunately. Thankfully this team is not like that. Pretty sure Madoc would be coding from a half-way house in order to get his game out there. They won't go back on their word/promise.
I would buy it at full price soon as it hit steam. They are doing an outstanding job with exanima. Hell i would back it now if i could. These people deserve the money for both games. Just my opinion.
I remember when I saw Sui Gensis on kickstarter. I didn't have the money to support them then, but I do not so I brought this game. I don't regret it one bit.

As others have mentioned, those who backed SG get Exanima for free (as a bonus and a thank you from the devs) since SG is taking longer than originally planned. This is an added bonus so of course everyone who backed SG still gets a copy of that as well :). The devs tend to go the extra mile and deliver more than they promise, not less.
