plate gauntlets worth it?

I've bought "plate gauntlets" (master rank), but I found out that they replace "plate vambraces". To me it seems that "plate vambraces" + "chain gauntlets" do better protection and coverage than only "plate gauntlets". The only minor downside is that the two items cost 2 points, while the plate gauntlets cost 1.5 points.

What do you think?

(And how do you put screenshots here?)

PS On second thought, 'plate gauntlets' compliment with 'plate armour' nicely, which replaces 'plate vambraces' and 'plate couters'.

I prefer gauntlets if you have the elbow protectors (forgot the name). If I have plate gauntlets, elbow guards and large spaulders then I use a sleveless chain vest instead of the long-sleeved one, since the entire arm is mostly protected.

So I guess the answer depends on what gear you already have

(and chain gaunts protect less than plate gaunts, so your hands will be better protected)

They seem fairly long and the protection is top-notch. I use them on my master character too even when I can't afford a full suit. It only takes one round of elimination to acquire a suit anyway and they are pretty cheap compared to the rest of the suit.

In way over 200 hours of game play, I've never been hit in the hands or lower arm. Gauntlets are the last place I worry about protection.
