How does Arena tournament works?

Cos I don't get it.

I apply my master rank fighter (single fighter).
I put my fighter in events that I like (not ALL events, but at least 3, some are for groups of fighters so I can't enter).
I fight in these events and win them.

However, the tournaments ENDS after me winning TWO times and that's it. No prize. Nothing.

Does that means that I need to have full roster of hired master fighters to be able to compete in more events?

If you've won three matches in the tournament and no other team also won three matches then you win the prize, but if you tie there is no winner. Four wins guaranties you win the tournament. The prize will then go directly to your arsenal after you end the day. You can win with just one master fighter, it's just easier with more. You can also see if you've won the tournament in the season tab or from your managers board.

But I'm confused, I've played fray - won. I played elimination - won. And all of a sudden the tournament ended without me participating in other events even though I entered them by dragging my PC character to the right window. What am I missing?

Ok, I just did some testing - I am 100% sure that I entered 3 events days before tournament started. On the day of the tournament, I was kicked out of third one, making me participate in only 2 events so that I cannot win the tournament.

What am I doing wrong?

I'm guessing you entered a conquest match. For those you need to have an AI companion fight with you. They're called hirelings. After you add your guy in for one of those matches it'll say 1/2 entered. Once you do have an AI enter with you it's 3 rounds of 2v2. Also if you or your teammate get knocked out in one of the rounds only the one standing goes into the next round.

Also your AI partner also had to be master rank.

You could have also entered a champion or melee match type that requires you to have a certain type of weapon, but it'll be red if your character doesn't have the correct weapon equipped.
