Can someone fully explain lore of the game?

Why this dungeon is deserted, what happened in past and how long ago?

I think only the devs can "fully" explain the lore and maybe not even them. But they wouldn't give it away in any case, they are very tight-lipped about details concerning the lore and firm belivers that lore should be discovered in-game and not read in some wiki or forum.
That said, there are some theories on the lore proposed by other members on this forum which you should be able to find with a little digging.
