Exanima is a proof of concept that I have been hooked on since I bought it recently; personally, I'd like some quality of life improvements to the control scheme before anything else IMO.
Sui Generis will be developed after Ex Anima will be finished, they both use the same systems and Ex Anima being the prelude to Sui Generis, their story is related.
So yeah, it is in development in some way, the more they refine their systems the better Sui Generis will become.
My only criticism is a missing keybinding. In every other way I fully support this game.
