Why is there only one torch?
Really, it's possibly the strangest and most unimmersive thing in the game. You're telling me that nobody down here uses the most common and easily improvised light source known to man? That there are no sconces or braziers that are nonmagical?

It's a pretty ancient place, so everything has long extinguished. If anything it's weird there's a magical torch that lasts forever at all. I guess it lasts forever to prevent frustration if it were to go out. However maybe it was nighttime when the PC(player character) fell down and dropped their torch with them.

well, it could be implemented in the future since I remember some talking about lightable candles. cant remember exactly though.

This is actually a fair and reasonable point you bring up. A rarity on steam discussions.

Torches are clearly important to borderline critical to this game. What if someone screws up and drops the torch somewhere hard to find it, let alone into a pit or something? Its a soft bricked run right there.

I agree torches should be somewhat replaceable. I get it, its a dungeon without normal human activity. Torches aren't coming in. Yet a single torch in the entire thing seems ridiculous. There is no reason back up torches couldn't be stashed somewhere in an immersive fashion.

Curious if you get ♥♥♥♥ on for this point OP, but I have to say its valid.

It would be a good idea to be able to light extinguished torches lying around the place, or of course candles. There are quite a few sconces(torch holders) on the walls around some of the areas so torches could also be placed in them to light the way and illuminate places explored. I have suggested this a long time ago as people tended to 'lose' their torch now and again. They did add a similar thing to certain levels, where you can turn wall lights on.

Just like Diabetus says, finding lit torches would be completely out of question for obvious reasons. But, of course, they could add a feature that would let you light more torches on your own. I think the devs once mentioned that they were not entirely happy with the way the old lighting engine handled multiple light sources packed together. I suspect this might be one reason why they have not added this kind of feature yet. I do not know if this is actually the reason, or even a reason, but in case it is, I guess its also possible that the new lighting engine might handle this better. That would make it more viable to add it in the future.
Plus you get a fancy helmet that solves all torch issues, I would instead like to make use of the "pottery room" usually old wax in jars can be scooped into a "glass jar" to make temp candles as light
