What you mean by "it has some potential"? The game or drag mechanic?
I was referring to the drag mechanic. I've tried a few times, while fighting, pick up objects like chairs and whatnot and drop them in the swing path of my opponent to block with, or on top of them to see if it fouls up their movement or trips them.
There is a lot of creative potential here, but the problem the OP mentioned with the item resetting at the edge of the radius just makes this painful to experiment with. After a few hours of messing with it, I came to the conclusion it is just too clunky to invest time into further.
The bar level in the arena is a pretty neat potential instance of "Oh hey here's a guy in the bar with a knife, i'm going to grab a chair and defend myself"
