Co-op and multiplayer
I realise this is something major and won't be done in a day but I'm curious as to what's planned and how it maybe implemented. Will there be dedicated servers , a type of matchmaking system or will it be invite only?

The only problem I'd see with multiplayer is when you get knocked down in the main game as the screen just fades out and fades back in when you're ready to get up but that could be bypassed by having it happen in real time and you'd be unable to move for a few minutes or until your friends have cleared off the threat.

Also how interacting with objects work, because atm you teleport an object from one place to another rather than manipulating it, dragging it real time so what would happen if several players would manipulate an object at the same time? Would one be cancelled out or would two instances be grabbed at the same time?

Anyway these are just my idle thoughts but multiplayer for this game would be really amazing as you'd be able to cover more ground and it wouldn't be a lonely journey no more.

I totally agree. And your concerns with the idea of multiplayer are also extremely validated. I feel, although they are currently working on more things for the game in its current state, I feel as though an implementation of co-op / PvP in the future would help with prolonging of the games life, which has no end in sight just yet, with the future of Sui Generis coming out. I feel like multiplayer would be a good way of tiding people over for the wait, or perhaps a modding community supported by the devs, in which the talented people would probably be able to make some kind of rudementary online moed, such as the modding community have done with 'Overgrowth'.

Since transfer of all that physics over the net is complicated, i think they can at least implement local multiplayer support, i.e. being able to plug second mouse in and play arena with your friend, like Hammerfight's developer did.

This. An issue that isn't often considered, from what I've seen. Imagine swinging your weapon with a well-timed attack, only for network latency to cause your shot to completely miss its mark. I do think however, that LAN support could be feasible, as it does not rely on a strong internet connection in order to work.

IIRC, It's been mentioned that the devs are considering LAN and/or online multiplayer; the issue is due to how physics dependent the game is the connection between players would have to be strong enough for a suitably low ping.

For the 384573945734578th time, it will be LAN with 2 players.
Three hundred eighty four trillion, five hundred seventy three billion, nine hundred forty five million, seven hundred thirty four thousand, five hundred and seventy eight .... wow, that's a lot of times.

Yeah wtf
I think its possible but for it to work there would have to be a bit of latency on actions because theres no way its keeping up with two people or more with how the game is at this point. The host would be doing most of the work if it was over internet rather than lan
